Chris tells MTV News that the pictures don't tell the full story and Rihanna says their just best friends, like "brother and sister."

Either way they are adorable as friends or a couple...

DAMN, I thought I was the ish on the Cupid Shuffle! This is just unacceptable, it's the electric slide on speed! I'm lost just watching it, but watch out because I'm about to learn it and bust it at the next wedding.

Now, for those of you who are not from Louisiana, this like the a tradition around these parts. We have a line dance for all kinds of ish, that the electric slide just can compare to.

But this...this shit right HERE is on a whole 'nother level!

So what Beyonce had a leaked track or that Solange is preparing her album or that Kelly Rowland just re-released her album digitally…It’s Michelle William's time to step out on her own again. This time, she’s sexified and hot! Which is slightly weird and maybe a little cliché.

You gotta work whatcha got though, right? Her new album, Unexpected is set to be released this August on Papa Knowles label, Music World/Columbia. Check out her first single “We Break the Dawn” which hit the internet today via People.com and features a new "unexpected" electronic dance sound:

In another tragic turn for the Levery Family, Sean Levert (brother of Gerald, son of Eddie) was found dead at just 39 years old in a Cleveland jail!

According to the Chicago-Sun Times, Sean was being held for allegedly failing to pay about $80,000 in child support.

Update:

According to MSNBC, an autopsy was done Monday but no immediate cause of death was determined, according to Powell Caesar, a spokesman for the Cuyahoga County’s coroner’s office, but he said there was no evidence of foul play or trauma.

Levert suffered from high blood pressure and had been hallucinating in jail, Caesar said. Toxicology reports could take four to six weeks, he said.

Warden Kevin McDonough said earlier that Levert had been sick and guards were watching him at the jail’s regular cellblock because he had been acting strangely. He died at Lutheran Hospital in Cleveland late Sunday, less than an hour after he was taken there from the jail, said coroner Frank Miller.

Sean Levert had pleaded guilty last week to six counts of nonsupport involving children ages 11, 15 and 17 and was sent to the Cuyahoga County jail last week.

Looks like the CW will let "Girlfriends" end without a decent farewell. According to my boy Jawn Murray over at BV, the suits at the network made an offer to return for a "retrospective" episode that would feature recaps of the previous shows and cast members reflecting on those shows. The catch was, that they offered only half of their episodic salary for the half-baked finale!

To make matters worse, word is that they don't want to pay them for the remaining nine episodes left in their contracts that they plan not to shoot due to the writers strike. The cast is said to have hired a litigator to file a lawsuit against the network.

It's a crying shame that they torture us with other crappy shows and won't honor the one show that made the network popular.

Have something to say? Send it to the CW!

Rihanna loves the kids! After returning from her tour through Europe, she immediately started her “Girls Night Out” tour here in the states which include charity shows to benefit her charity, “The Believe Foundation.”

"When I was young and I would watch television and I would see all the children suffering, I always said when I grow up, I want to help," she told People.com after performing at Chicago's Vision nightclub.

Believe gives children a chance by providing everything from medical attention for children who can't afford it, school supplies for children in poorly funded public schools, toys for children who are terminally ill and clothes for children in homeless shelters.

Here are some pictures of Rihanna visiting with children, performing at her show at Ruby Skye in San Francisco, and her walk down the orange carpet at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards….

Beyonce [heavily airbrushed] covers foreign magazine Jack's April issue. Umm,...I don't speak Italian so I can't say what the article is about, but she has some other lovely airbrushed pictures to go with it.

In other Beyonce news, she posted a note on her website Friday about her leaked song "Beautiful Nightmate" calling it a "work in progress" but some claim that the mysterious leak was all a ploy to deter the spotlight from her former Destiny Child members...
Yesterday, "Beautiful Nightmare," a demo I've been working on for possible inclusion on my next album, leaked on some websites. I want to thank all my fans for the positive response to the song, but I want to tell you that this is just a work in progress. It is not my time to put out new music. If you really want to hear some really great music now, you have to support my girls Kelly, Michelle and my sister Solange. Kelly just re-released her album digitally in the US, so check out "Ms. Kelly: Diva Deluxe." Michelle is about to put out the first single, "We Break The Dawn," from her album and Solange's single, "I Decided," is already one of my favorites.
And to top off the weekend Beyonce crack news, NY Daily News says that Jay Z was spotted plotting with sister Solange on taking his relation to the next level with B.

Loyal reader Kim sent me a full report on the "Heart of the City" Tour after it rolled through Baltimore, so if you are still trying to decide if you want to go (and drop that $150 plus on a ticket) she makes quite a convincing case to go ahead and handle that...
My homegirl & I was on the floor (maybe a good…20 feet away for the stage) good seats. First off The Dream started his thing at 7:30; he did 3 songs and had his little dancers pour baby oil on each other! He was cool, sounded good. When he left the lights came back on and we waited for a good 30 minutes, I think they were waiting for people to get seated cuz there were still a lot of seats empty. Around 8 the lights cut off and they start playing a black & white movie/interview with Mary & Jay talking about why it’s a good idea for them to tour. Anyway they came out posing in their b-boy stance and started singing Can’t Knock The Hustle! It was rocking. Jay left and Mary started to do her thing. She went through a lot of her old songs (Real Love, You Remind Me, etc) She sung like 3 songs off her new album including Just Fine but she didn’t sing Hurt Again which was still cool even thought I was waiting for it. Of course she did No More Drama and rocked it! Oh and I saw Kendu and the kids, I think they gave her good luck hugs and kisses b4 the show. Mel she was so good…then the lights went down again. A movie with just Jay came one and we knew what that meant...the crowd went bananas! He started with I Know (OMG Mel he looked SO good, had his shades on with some baggy jeans and a fly shirt and jacket. I know he’s like almost 40 but I love him in that. And he blinging of course dripping with diamonds around he neck and wrist) he sung, my bad rapped like 2 more songs off of AG, brought Bleek out and did Can I Live(I heard later Freeway was backstage and kinda mad that Bleek went out and not him since he has a new song out but that what I heard plus that’s Bleek, his BFF for life) anyway…he did the Blue Magic with his politics with Barack(you know F-Bush) Melody I was in such awe, I mean I love Mary that’s my girl from wayyyy back, me and her have history but Jay-Z. I was trying to rock out with everyone but I was just paying attention/studying that man. I had so much fun, I’m partly deaf now (might b a good idea to bring some of those soft ear plugs) but it was so dope. We had so much fun. OMG I wish I could turn back time.
Yeah...totally make you want to go! I sure will be there!

I'm using the above promotional picture from T.I. vs TIP seeing that his situation is directly correlated what that album was about. Gotta leave the streets alone and make wiser decisions!

T.I. pleaded guilty to possession of unregistered machine guns and silencers, unlawful possession of machine guns and possession of firearms by a convicted felon.

The actual sentencing was deferred “to allow him to perform a unique and extensive program — at least 1,000 hours — of community service. That service will focus on using his high public visibility and his talents to tell at-risk young people about the mistakes he has made and to educate them about the dangers of violence, guns, gangs and drugs.”

U.S. Attorney David Nahmias said he will remain “under strict bond conditions” during the next year and under the agreement he will have to serve a year in prison and three years of supervised home detention, perform a total of 1,500 hours of community service and pay a $100,000 fine.

Failure to fulfill his obligations will net Harris a “much longer prison sentence,” Nahmias said.

T.I. spoke to the media briefly after the hearing.

“I’d like to thank God for blessing me with a second chance in life and success,” he said, adding that he takes the charges against him very seriously.

“I’m looking forward to turning this negative time in my life into a positive,” he said. “I know I have a long road of redemption to travel.”

Pulitzer-prize winning reporter Chuck Philips, who wrote the story, and his supervisor, Deputy Managing Editor Marc Duvoisin, also apologized.

T.I. will face the music today when he enters a guilty plea on the federal multiple weapon charges he is facing [he originally entered a not guilty plea]. A good Easter sermon can make you want to change your life, you know.

Looking at many years in prison, T.I. is scheduled to enter his plea today at 1:30 pm. According to Yahoo! I’ll be sure to update as details become available.

I kept wondering if I had slept through a day a missed the divorce of Kimora Lee and Russell Simmons, but I was right. They never filed for divorce officially, well not until now. Kimora finally started the proceedings by filing for divorce yesterday in L.A after separating in March 2006.

According to People.com, court papers show that Kimora cites irreconcilable differences and asks for legal and physical custody of the couple's two daughters, Ming, 8, and Aoki, 5. She requests that Simmons, 50, get "reasonable child visitation … to be accompanied at all times by the children's nanny and security personnel.

I am sure this will add some fuel to the pregnancy rumors that she is constantly denying…Both she and Uncle Russ have moved on, but I know the legality of their split is going to be a financial nightmare. However, they have been able manage parenting those adorable daughters together without any drama.

New music from the Knowles sisters has leaked this week. As you may have heard Beyonce's next project it set to be a dance album, a more international sound than her previous albums have been. This new song that unexpectedly hit the internet, "Beautiful Nightmare," may be a taste of what is to come, but I don't think is anything official and may very well be just some music left on the cutting room floor. Ya'll know Beyonce is constantly working on music so we'll see what comes of this new direction.

Baby sister Solange is inching closer to releasing her second album and from the new music that's bee coming out, she is definitely working on creating a very different sound. That's definitely a good look for her seeing that she is likely to face comparison to her her vocally superior sister. "I Decided" is a very Amy Winehouse-esque jazz number that is really catchy. Said to be the lead single off her upcoming project. Also leaked this week is another song "God Given Name" that may the the intro song on the album which features a real mellow groove.

In other Knowles Empire World Domination news... Solange and Baby Daniel move in on Nick Jr. with "Yo Gabba Gabba" [got him making that paper early!] and may even be getting his own show...

Many have come and gone from America's Next Top Model, but could there be more conflicts on the CW breadwinner? Of all people, word on the curb at OK Magazine is that Tyra and Jay Manuel are far from BFFs now.
“It’s gotten so bad that Tyra and Jay aren’t speaking,” an insider told OK! magazine. The selective silent treatment isn’t limited to Manuel, either. “Tyra barely interacts with the contestants and only wants to show up on judging day,” the source told the magazine.

Net result? Banks (who wouldn’t comment on the rumors) might be looking for a new supermodel to helm ANTM. “She’s really throwing all her weight behind her talk show,” according to a source familiar with “The Tyra Banks Show.” “She’s putting lots of pressure on her staff to keep her show on the map. She had Barack Obama on, she had Hilary Clinton on — she got a taste of playing with the big boys and now ‘Top Model’ seems to detract from her big plans.” [via MSNBC]
ANTM is nonexistent without Tyra...There is no way you can replace jewels like this!

Word is that jealousy got the best of Tameka on the set of Usher's new video for his first single "Love in the Club" in L.A. this weekend and it was all aimed at the hand-picked love interest, the beautiful Keri Hilson.
Foster was "domineering" and displayed her trademark "Tameka wrath" during a video shoot for Usher's new song, "Love in the Club," the weekend of March 15 in LA.

Our on-set source said Foster was upset when she found out stunning singer/songwriter Keri Hilson was personally picked by Usher to play his love interest in the video.

"It was supposed to be a sexy video shoot," our spy said. "And Tameka was there the entire time guarding like a watchdog. It was ridiculous - she knows Keri and knows she's no video ho or Karrine Steffans." Steffans, nicknamed "Superhead," wrote the book, "Video Vixen," about her alleged flings with Usher and several other artists.

"Tameka is very insecure," our source said. "Even in rehearsals she was weird and clearly not happy that Keri is so gorgeous. Tameka threw a lot of attitude. The day of the shoot, Tameka dressed Keri very badly - she looked like an extra. Tameka wouldn't let Keri have her hairdresser there - she had to use the hairdresser who was doing the extras."

Foster also took a dislike to Usher's longtime choreographer, Jamaica, and banned her from the set. When Usher and Foster were spotted at the Beverly Hills Hotel last week, "They barely said one word to each other," we're told. [via PageSix]
Hell I would be a little jealous of Keri, she is GORGEOUS! Plus I think Tameka has a real stank attitude in general, but Benny Medina refuted the account saying that everything went wonderful. I personally think that Tameka should stay away from working on her hubby's videoshoots. You know that there will always be a side-eye on her.

Drama has popped off with the Queen of Drama herself, Wendy Williams and her talent producer, Nicole Spence, according to the NY Post. After what Nicole reports as sexual harassment by Wendy’s younger husband/manager Kevin Hunter and that he beat Wendy in and around the station WBLS, she file paper with the EEO Commission in New York yesterday. [Can we get a Wendy Williams sound effect…DUM DUM DUM].
"Mr. Hunter repeatedly sexually propositioned me at work in the most crude and vulgar ways, telling me over and over that he wanted to 'f- - -' me," Spence charges.
"I also feared Mr. Hunter because he repeatedly physically assaulted Ms. Williams at or near the WBLS studio," Spence says in the complaint.

"In one instance, Mr. Hunter stormed into the studio, demanded that other employees leave and openly physically abused Ms. Williams, pinning her against the wall with his hand around her neck, choking her while repeatedly pounding his fist into the wall directly by her head."

Asked about Spence's complaint, Williams yesterday told The Post, "Her allegations are totally false. This bitch is out of her mind."

The allegations are "so far from the truth. It's insane," Hunter said.
I can’t imagine what her show will be like today, but I am sure the ratings will skyrocket! I surely wouldn’t put it past Kevin, something in that milk surely isn’t clean. It always seemed a bit suspect to me, the way Wendy talks about him and their relationship. So I don’t know, but it’s very salacious if you ask me. If the physical abuse is true, I hope more staff out him, domestic violence is just not cute at all.

So says the NY Post...No surprise there though! Here's a run down of what the brothers of Jackson 5 that haven't been relevant since bell bottoms are up to now:
  • Marlon Jackson, 51, an original Jackson Five member who stocks shelves at a Vons supermarket in San Diego, had to temporarily move into an extended-stay hotel.
  • Randy, 46, does odd jobs, including fixing cars in a Los Angeles garage owned by a family friend. He recently claimed Michael was going to give him $1.7 million - "a pipe dream," said another brother last week.
  • Jackie, 56, the oldest and most debonair of the brothers, is struggling to manage his son Siggy's aspiring rap career after an Internet clothing business startup and attempts to produce music failed.
  • Jermaine, 54, shuttles back and forth from his girlfriend's home in Ventura County, Calif., to his parents' mansion in Encino, where Jackie and Randy still bunk.
  • Tito, 55, is the only brother still making music, but it's a meager living. The guitarist fronts a blues and jazz band that plays small venues and nets him $500 and $1,500 per occasional gig - a far cry from the days when the Jacksons could pull in 50,000 people at $30 a ticket.
  • Joseph Jackson, 79, spends most of his waking hours conjuring up schemes he hopes will replenish a bank account that once had more money than the FDIC cared to insure. Peddling musical girl groups in Las Vegas and a book about his family in Germany, Joseph, despite evidence to the contrary, is not convinced that time and the music industry have passed him by. "We can get back out there and set the world on fire," he told The Post last week. "If the Rolling Stones can still rake in the money, so, too, can my boys.
Lord be a fence! Some thing need to just get on the Keyshia Cole train and LET IT GO! Janet Jackson the current breadwinner of the family, but she seems to find a way to keep away from the foolery. Maybe that's why she works so much!?

Detroit Mayor, in the midst of yet another political sex scandal, was hit with a number of charges stemming from the whistle-blowing trail that not only cost Detroit millions but also outed the mayor and his Chief of Staff, Christine Beatty's affair through hot and steamy sexually explicit texts on state issued phones [yeah, just stupid].

Both vehemently denied the affair under oath, and both have been charged with perjury.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy also charged the popular yet polarizing 37-year-old mayor with obstruction of justice and misconduct in office. Kilpatrick, who was to be arraigned Tuesday afternoon, could face up to 15 years in prison and be expelled from office if convicted.

“Some have suggested that the issues in this case are personal or private,” Worthy said. “Our investigation has clearly shown that public dollars were used, people’s lives were ruined, the justice system severely mocked and the public trust trampled on. ... This case is about as far from being a private matter as one can get.” via MSNBC

Danity Kane is sitting pretty on top of the charts and is expected to have the number one album in the country with their album, Welcome to the Dollhouse. Both groups performed, along with Donnie who performed his new single "Take You There" which features Diddy. Funny thing is, I hear they had to tape it again, since the first run sucked ass.

Dawn and Que, who earlier in the episode had a huge fight at a club and made up, were grilled again about their relationship. He says he'd like to "claim Dawn" and Sway gets them to smooch on air...Cute little couple they are. But Que pulled some straight bitchassness saying that Danity Kane talked bad about Day 26, but I think he was just mad because he got his feelings hurt in the club.

In completely shocking and random news, the husband of Corinne Bailey Rae was found dead in Leeds (200 miles from London) on Saturday. The 31-year old saxophone player is suspected to have died of an apparent overdose.
According to British media reports, police have arrested an unidentified 32-year-old man for allegedly "supplying controlled substances." He was subsequently released on bail.

Rae, who played the saxophone, was scheduled to perform with his band, Haggis Horns, on Sunday night at the HiFi Club in Leeds. That gig has subsequently been cancelled.

No word on his more famous wife's whereabouts or whether she was with him when he died. An autopsy was inconclusive and police are currently waiting on the results of toxicology tests before making a final determination on cause of death. [SOURCE]

Mariah Carey covers the family-friendly mag Parade where she gets a little personal about her past and talks about her upcoming release.

Here are a few snippets from the interview:

On being a "diva":

“I grew up hearing it, because my mother is an opera singer,” Carey tells me. “The actual definition is ‘a talented female singer.’ Definition two is ‘a difficult woman who is successful,’ I believe. So I take it as a compliment.”

On feeling like a prisoner in her failed marriage to Tommy Mottola:
“That part of my life always remains with me, because it was so intense,” Carey admits. “But part of that is my fault, for allowing that relationship to kind of linger—or, dare I say, fester—for so long. I grew up with such dysfunction that I assumed I didn’t have a right to a happy personal life.”

Barack Obama's Speech on Race
The following is the text as prepared for delivery of Senator Barack Obama's speech on race in Philadelphia, as provided by his presidential campaign.

"We the people, in order to form a more perfect union."

Two hundred and twenty one years ago, in a hall that still stands across the street, a group of men gathered and, with these simple words, launched America's improbable experiment in democracy. Farmers and scholars; statesmen and patriots who had traveled across an ocean to escape tyranny and persecution finally made real their declaration of independence at a Philadelphia convention that lasted through the spring of 1787.

The document they produced was eventually signed but ultimately unfinished. It was stained by this nation's original sin of slavery, a question that divided the colonies and brought the convention to a stalemate until the founders chose to allow the slave trade to continue for at least twenty more years, and to leave any final resolution to future generations.

Of course, the answer to the slavery question was already embedded within our Constitution – a Constitution that had at is very core the ideal of equal citizenship under the law; a Constitution that promised its people liberty, and justice, and a union that could be and should be perfected over time.

And yet words on a parchment would not be enough to deliver slaves from bondage, or provide men and women of every color and creed their full rights and obligations as citizens of the United States. What would be needed were Americans in successive generations who were willing to do their part – through protests and struggle, on the streets and in the courts, through a civil war and civil disobedience and always at great risk - to narrow that gap between the promise of our ideals and the reality of their time.

This was one of the tasks we set forth at the beginning of this campaign – to continue the long march of those who came before us, a march for a more just, more equal, more free, more caring and more prosperous America. I chose to run for the presidency at this moment in history because I believe deeply that we cannot solve the challenges of our time unless we solve them together – unless we perfect our union by understanding that we may have different stories, but we hold common hopes; that we may not look the same and we may not have come from the same place, but we all want to move in the same direction – towards a better future for of children and our grandchildren.

This belief comes from my unyielding faith in the decency and generosity of the American people. But it also comes from my own American story.

I am the son of a black man from Kenya and a white woman from Kansas. I was raised with the help of a white grandfather who survived a Depression to serve in Patton's Army during World War II and a white grandmother who worked on a bomber assembly line at Fort Leavenworth while he was overseas. I've gone to some of the best schools in America and lived in one of the world's poorest nations. I am married to a black American who carries within her the blood of slaves and slaveowners – an inheritance we pass on to our two precious daughters. I have brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, uncles and cousins, of every race and every hue, scattered across three continents, and for as long as I live, I will never forget that in no other country on Earth is my story even possible.

It's a story that hasn't made me the most conventional candidate. But it is a story that has seared into my genetic makeup the idea that this nation is more than the sum of its parts – that out of many, we are truly one.

Throughout the first year of this campaign, against all predictions to the contrary, we saw how hungry the American people were for this message of unity. Despite the temptation to view my candidacy through a purely racial lens, we won commanding victories in states with some of the whitest populations in the country. In South Carolina, where the Confederate Flag still flies, we built a powerful coalition of African Americans and white Americans.

This is not to say that race has not been an issue in the campaign. At various stages in the campaign, some commentators have deemed me either "too black" or "not black enough." We saw racial tensions bubble to the surface during the week before the South Carolina primary. The press has scoured every exit poll for the latest evidence of racial polarization, not just in terms of white and black, but black and brown as well.

And yet, it has only been in the last couple of weeks that the discussion of race in this campaign has taken a particularly divisive turn.

On one end of the spectrum, we've heard the implication that my candidacy is somehow an exercise in affirmative action; that it's based solely on the desire of wide-eyed liberals to purchase racial reconciliation on the cheap. On the other end, we've heard my former pastor, Reverend Jeremiah Wright, use incendiary language to express views that have the potential not only to widen the racial divide, but views that denigrate both the greatness and the goodness of our nation; that rightly offend white and black alike.

I have already condemned, in unequivocal terms, the statements of Reverend Wright that have caused such controversy. For some, nagging questions remain. Did I know him to be an occasionally fierce critic of American domestic and foreign policy? Of course. Did I ever hear him make remarks that could be considered controversial while I sat in church? Yes. Did I strongly disagree with many of his political views? Absolutely – just as I'm sure many of you have heard remarks from your pastors, priests, or rabbis with which you strongly disagreed.

But the remarks that have caused this recent firestorm weren't simply controversial. They weren't simply a religious leader's effort to speak out against perceived injustice. Instead, they expressed a profoundly distorted view of this country – a view that sees white racism as endemic, and that elevates what is wrong with America above all that we know is right with America; a view that sees the conflicts in the Middle East as rooted primarily in the actions of stalwart allies like Israel, instead of emanating from the perverse and hateful ideologies of radical Islam.

As such, Reverend Wright's comments were not only wrong but divisive, divisive at a time when we need unity; racially charged at a time when we need to come together to solve a set of monumental problems – two wars, a terrorist threat, a falling economy, a chronic health care crisis and potentially devastating climate change; problems that are neither black or white or Latino or Asian, but rather problems that confront us all.

Given my background, my politics, and my professed values and ideals, there will no doubt be those for whom my statements of condemnation are not enough. Why associate myself with Reverend Wright in the first place, they may ask? Why not join another church? And I confess that if all that I knew of Reverend Wright were the snippets of those sermons that have run in an endless loop on the television and You Tube, or if Trinity United Church of Christ conformed to the caricatures being peddled by some commentators, there is no doubt that I would react in much the same way

But the truth is, that isn't all that I know of the man. The man I met more than twenty years ago is a man who helped introduce me to my Christian faith, a man who spoke to me about our obligations to love one another; to care for the sick and lift up the poor. He is a man who served his country as a U.S. Marine; who has studied and lectured at some of the finest universities and seminaries in the country, and who for over thirty years led a church that serves the community by doing God's work here on Earth – by housing the homeless, ministering to the needy, providing day care services and scholarships and prison ministries, and reaching out to those suffering from HIV/AIDS.

In my first book, Dreams From My Father, I described the experience of my first service at Trinity:

"People began to shout, to rise from their seats and clap and cry out, a forceful wind carrying the reverend's voice up into the rafters….And in that single note – hope! – I heard something else; at the foot of that cross, inside the thousands of churches across the city, I imagined the stories of ordinary black people merging with the stories of David and Goliath, Moses and Pharaoh, the Christians in the lion's den, Ezekiel's field of dry bones. Those stories – of survival, and freedom, and hope – became our story, my story; the blood that had spilled was our blood, the tears our tears; until this black church, on this bright day, seemed once more a vessel carrying the story of a people into future generations and into a larger world. Our trials and triumphs became at once unique and universal, black and more than black; in chronicling our journey, the stories and songs gave us a means to reclaim memories that we didn't need to feel shame about…memories that all people might study and cherish – and with which we could start to rebuild."

That has been my experience at Trinity. Like other predominantly black churches across the country, Trinity embodies the black community in its entirety – the doctor and the welfare mom, the model student and the former gang-banger. Like other black churches, Trinity's services are full of raucous laughter and sometimes bawdy humor. They are full of dancing, clapping, screaming and shouting that may seem jarring to the untrained ear. The church contains in full the kindness and cruelty, the fierce intelligence and the shocking ignorance, the struggles and successes, the love and yes, the bitterness and bias that make up the black experience in America.

And this helps explain, perhaps, my relationship with Reverend Wright. As imperfect as he may be, he has been like family to me. He strengthened my faith, officiated my wedding, and baptized my children. Not once in my conversations with him have I heard him talk about any ethnic group in derogatory terms, or treat whites with whom he interacted with anything but courtesy and respect. He contains within him the contradictions – the good and the bad – of the community that he has served diligently for so many years.

I can no more disown him than I can disown the black community. I can no more disown him than I can my white grandmother – a woman who helped raise me, a woman who sacrificed again and again for me, a woman who loves me as much as she loves anything in this world, but a woman who once confessed her fear of black men who passed by her on the street, and who on more than one occasion has uttered racial or ethnic stereotypes that made me cringe.

These people are a part of me. And they are a part of America, this country that I love.

Some will see this as an attempt to justify or excuse comments that are simply inexcusable. I can assure you it is not. I suppose the politically safe thing would be to move on from this episode and just hope that it fades into the woodwork. We can dismiss Reverend Wright as a crank or a demagogue, just as some have dismissed Geraldine Ferraro, in the aftermath of her recent statements, as harboring some deep-seated racial bias.

But race is an issue that I believe this nation cannot afford to ignore right now. We would be making the same mistake that Reverend Wright made in his offending sermons about America – to simplify and stereotype and amplify the negative to the point that it distorts reality.

The fact is that the comments that have been made and the issues that have surfaced over the last few weeks reflect the complexities of race in this country that we've never really worked through – a part of our union that we have yet to perfect. And if we walk away now, if we simply retreat into our respective corners, we will never be able to come together and solve challenges like health care, or education, or the need to find good jobs for every American.

Understanding this reality requires a reminder of how we arrived at this point. As William Faulkner once wrote, "The past isn't dead and buried. In fact, it isn't even past." We do not need to recite here the history of racial injustice in this country. But we do need to remind ourselves that so many of the disparities that exist in the African-American community today can be directly traced to inequalities passed on from an earlier generation that suffered under the brutal legacy of slavery and Jim Crow.

Segregated schools were, and are, inferior schools; we still haven't fixed them, fifty years after Brown v. Board of Education, and the inferior education they provided, then and now, helps explain the pervasive achievement gap between today's black and white students.

Legalized discrimination - where blacks were prevented, often through violence, from owning property, or loans were not granted to African-American business owners, or black homeowners could not access FHA mortgages, or blacks were excluded from unions, or the police force, or fire departments – meant that black families could not amass any meaningful wealth to bequeath to future generations. That history helps explain the wealth and income gap between black and white, and the concentrated pockets of poverty that persists in so many of today's urban and rural communities.

A lack of economic opportunity among black men, and the shame and frustration that came from not being able to provide for one's family, contributed to the erosion of black families – a problem that welfare policies for many years may have worsened. And the lack of basic services in so many urban black neighborhoods – parks for kids to play in, police walking the beat, regular garbage pick-up and building code enforcement – all helped create a cycle of violence, blight and neglect that continue to haunt us.

This is the reality in which Reverend Wright and other African-Americans of his generation grew up. They came of age in the late fifties and early sixties, a time when segregation was still the law of the land and opportunity was systematically constricted. What's remarkable is not how many failed in the face of discrimination, but rather how many men and women overcame the odds; how many were able to make a way out of no way for those like me who would come after them.

But for all those who scratched and clawed their way to get a piece of the American Dream, there were many who didn't make it – those who were ultimately defeated, in one way or another, by discrimination. That legacy of defeat was passed on to future generations – those young men and increasingly young women who we see standing on street corners or languishing in our prisons, without hope or prospects for the future. Even for those blacks who did make it, questions of race, and racism, continue to define their worldview in fundamental ways. For the men and women of Reverend Wright's generation, the memories of humiliation and doubt and fear have not gone away; nor has the anger and the bitterness of those years. That anger may not get expressed in public, in front of white co-workers or white friends. But it does find voice in the barbershop or around the kitchen table. At times, that anger is exploited by politicians, to gin up votes along racial lines, or to make up for a politician's own failings.

And occasionally it finds voice in the church on Sunday morning, in the pulpit and in the pews. The fact that so many people are surprised to hear that anger in some of Reverend Wright's sermons simply reminds us of the old truism that the most segregated hour in American life occurs on Sunday morning. That anger is not always productive; indeed, all too often it distracts attention from solving real problems; it keeps us from squarely facing our own complicity in our condition, and prevents the African-American community from forging the alliances it needs to bring about real change. But the anger is real; it is powerful; and to simply wish it away, to condemn it without understanding its roots, only serves to widen the chasm of misunderstanding that exists between the races.

In fact, a similar anger exists within segments of the white community. Most working- and middle-class white Americans don't feel that they have been particularly privileged by their race. Their experience is the immigrant experience – as far as they're concerned, no one's handed them anything, they've built it from scratch. They've worked hard all their lives, many times only to see their jobs shipped overseas or their pension dumped after a lifetime of labor. They are anxious about their futures, and feel their dreams slipping away; in an era of stagnant wages and global competition, opportunity comes to be seen as a zero sum game, in which your dreams come at my expense. So when they are told to bus their children to a school across town; when they hear that an African American is getting an advantage in landing a good job or a spot in a good college because of an injustice that they themselves never committed; when they're told that their fears about crime in urban neighborhoods are somehow prejudiced, resentment builds over time.

Like the anger within the black community, these resentments aren't always expressed in polite company. But they have helped shape the political landscape for at least a generation. Anger over welfare and affirmative action helped forge the Reagan Coalition. Politicians routinely exploited fears of crime for their own electoral ends. Talk show hosts and conservative commentators built entire careers unmasking bogus claims of racism while dismissing legitimate discussions of racial injustice and inequality as mere political correctness or reverse racism.

Just as black anger often proved counterproductive, so have these white resentments distracted attention from the real culprits of the middle class squeeze – a corporate culture rife with inside dealing, questionable accounting practices, and short-term greed; a Washington dominated by lobbyists and special interests; economic policies that favor the few over the many. And yet, to wish away the resentments of white Americans, to label them as misguided or even racist, without recognizing they are grounded in legitimate concerns – this too widens the racial divide, and blocks the path to understanding.

This is where we are right now. It's a racial stalemate we've been stuck in for years. Contrary to the claims of some of my critics, black and white, I have never been so naïve as to believe that we can get beyond our racial divisions in a single election cycle, or with a single candidacy – particularly a candidacy as imperfect as my own.

But I have asserted a firm conviction – a conviction rooted in my faith in God and my faith in the American people – that working together we can move beyond some of our old racial wounds, and that in fact we have no choice is we are to continue on the path of a more perfect union.

For the African-American community, that path means embracing the burdens of our past without becoming victims of our past. It means continuing to insist on a full measure of justice in every aspect of American life. But it also means binding our particular grievances – for better health care, and better schools, and better jobs - to the larger aspirations of all Americans -- the white woman struggling to break the glass ceiling, the white man whose been laid off, the immigrant trying to feed his family. And it means taking full responsibility for own lives – by demanding more from our fathers, and spending more time with our children, and reading to them, and teaching them that while they may face challenges and discrimination in their own lives, they must never succumb to despair or cynicism; they must always believe that they can write their own destiny.

Ironically, this quintessentially American – and yes, conservative – notion of self-help found frequent expression in Reverend Wright's sermons. But what my former pastor too often failed to understand is that embarking on a program of self-help also requires a belief that society can change.

The profound mistake of Reverend Wright's sermons is not that he spoke about racism in our society. It's that he spoke as if our society was static; as if no progress has been made; as if this country – a country that has made it possible for one of his own members to run for the highest office in the land and build a coalition of white and black; Latino and Asian, rich and poor, young and old -- is still irrevocably bound to a tragic past. But what we know -- what we have seen – is that America can change. That is true genius of this nation. What we have already achieved gives us hope – the audacity to hope – for what we can and must achieve tomorrow.

In the white community, the path to a more perfect union means acknowledging that what ails the African-American community does not just exist in the minds of black people; that the legacy of discrimination - and current incidents of discrimination, while less overt than in the past - are real and must be addressed. Not just with words, but with deeds – by investing in our schools and our communities; by enforcing our civil rights laws and ensuring fairness in our criminal justice system; by providing this generation with ladders of opportunity that were unavailable for previous generations. It requires all Americans to realize that your dreams do not have to come at the expense of my dreams; that investing in the health, welfare, and education of black and brown and white children will ultimately help all of America prosper.

In the end, then, what is called for is nothing more, and nothing less, than what all the world's great religions demand – that we do unto others as we would have them do unto us. Let us be our brother's keeper, Scripture tells us. Let us be our sister's keeper. Let us find that common stake we all have in one another, and let our politics reflect that spirit as well.

For we have a choice in this country. We can accept a politics that breeds division, and conflict, and cynicism. We can tackle race only as spectacle – as we did in the OJ trial – or in the wake of tragedy, as we did in the aftermath of Katrina - or as fodder for the nightly news. We can play Reverend Wright's sermons on every channel, every day and talk about them from now until the election, and make the only question in this campaign whether or not the American people think that I somehow believe or sympathize with his most offensive words. We can pounce on some gaffe by a Hillary supporter as evidence that she's playing the race card, or we can speculate on whether white men will all flock to John McCain in the general election regardless of his policies.

We can do that.

But if we do, I can tell you that in the next election, we'll be talking about some other distraction. And then another one. And then another one. And nothing will change.

That is one option. Or, at this moment, in this election, we can come together and say, "Not this time." This time we want to talk about the crumbling schools that are stealing the future of black children and white children and Asian children and Hispanic children and Native American children. This time we want to reject the cynicism that tells us that these kids can't learn; that those kids who don't look like us are somebody else's problem. The children of America are not those kids, they are our kids, and we will not let them fall behind in a 21st century economy. Not this time.

This time we want to talk about how the lines in the Emergency Room are filled with whites and blacks and Hispanics who do not have health care; who don't have the power on their own to overcome the special interests in Washington, but who can take them on if we do it together.

This time we want to talk about the shuttered mills that once provided a decent life for men and women of every race, and the homes for sale that once belonged to Americans from every religion, every region, every walk of life. This time we want to talk about the fact that the real problem is not that someone who doesn't look like you might take your job; it's that the corporation you work for will ship it overseas for nothing more than a profit.

This time we want to talk about the men and women of every color and creed who serve together, and fight together, and bleed together under the same proud flag. We want to talk about how to bring them home from a war that never should've been authorized and never should've been waged, and we want to talk about how we'll show our patriotism by caring for them, and their families, and giving them the benefits they have earned.

I would not be running for President if I didn't believe with all my heart that this is what the vast majority of Americans want for this country. This union may never be perfect, but generation after generation has shown that it can always be perfected. And today, whenever I find myself feeling doubtful or cynical about this possibility, what gives me the most hope is the next generation – the young people whose attitudes and beliefs and openness to change have already made history in this election.

There is one story in particularly that I'd like to leave you with today – a story I told when I had the great honor of speaking on Dr. King's birthday at his home church, Ebenezer Baptist, in Atlanta.

There is a young, twenty-three year old white woman named Ashley Baia who organized for our campaign in Florence, South Carolina. She had been working to organize a mostly African-American community since the beginning of this campaign, and one day she was at a roundtable discussion where everyone went around telling their story and why they were there.

And Ashley said that when she was nine years old, her mother got cancer. And because she had to miss days of work, she was let go and lost her health care. They had to file for bankruptcy, and that's when Ashley decided that she had to do something to help her mom.

She knew that food was one of their most expensive costs, and so Ashley convinced her mother that what she really liked and really wanted to eat more than anything else was mustard and relish sandwiches. Because that was the cheapest way to eat.

She did this for a year until her mom got better, and she told everyone at the roundtable that the reason she joined our campaign was so that she could help the millions of other children in the country who want and need to help their parents too.

Now Ashley might have made a different choice. Perhaps somebody told her along the way that the source of her mother's problems were blacks who were on welfare and too lazy to work, or Hispanics who were coming into the country illegally. But she didn't. She sought out allies in her fight against injustice.

Anyway, Ashley finishes her story and then goes around the room and asks everyone else why they're supporting the campaign. They all have different stories and reasons. Many bring up a specific issue. And finally they come to this elderly black man who's been sitting there quietly the entire time. And Ashley asks him why he's there. And he does not bring up a specific issue. He does not say health care or the economy. He does not say education or the war. He does not say that he was there because of Barack Obama. He simply says to everyone in the room, "I am here because of Ashley."

"I'm here because of Ashley." By itself, that single moment of recognition between that young white girl and that old black man is not enough. It is not enough to give health care to the sick, or jobs to the jobless, or education to our children.

But it is where we start. It is where our union grows stronger. And as so many generations have come to realize over the course of the two-hundred and twenty one years since a band of patriots signed that document in Philadelphia, that is where the perfection begins.

Blige, Ciara] and Scyience [Jay Z, Beyonce]. The ladies were able to stretch their writing skills [and collect on those publishing rights] with tracks like “Strip Tease” and “Lights Out” and “Picture This.”

The ladies vocal acrobatics are fierce and blend so well on the album, while being able to maintain their individual sound. You’ll hear more from Shannon as well as Aubrey, and as always Dawn, D. Woods and Andrea stand out as homerun hitters. You can definitely hear a softer side of D. Woods. The move toward “International Pop” is very evident in choice of melodies and beats, there’s an infusion of dance, techno, and funk through out the album, especially in “Bad Girl” which features Missy Elliot and “Pretty Boy.” The group-penned “Strip Tease” is pop-friendly track that is dripping in sex. You won’t miss on their ability to produce a beautiful ballad with the beautifully dramatic “Is Anybody Listening.” The complex layering of voices is beyond the average girl group.

As with their debut, Danity Kane, you get a complete album and fans won’t be disappointed. This time around, I won’t be surprised when they go platinum.

After Radar Magazine released an article that names, among others, Will and Jada Smith and Kimora Lee Simmons as the new faces of Scientology, Will has once again denied any plans to join the religion.

“You don't have to be Jewish to be a friend of Steven Spielberg. You don't have to be a Muslim to be a friend of Muhammad Ali. And you don't have to be a Scientologist to be a friend of Tom Cruise," Smith tells the NY Daily News. "I am a Christian. I am a student of all religions. And I respect all people and all paths."

I can remember a while back when Tom and Will began kicking it real hard together that everyone started reporting that Will was going to join the suspicious at best religion, however in an interview he made it clear that he was far from a member. More specifically that his Baptist Grandmother would “rollover in her grave.”

Today the L.A. Times posted a very controversial account of the shooting of Tupac back in 1994 at Quad Recording Studios in NYC . The article captured what it claims to be the real story behind the shooting, said to be linked back to Diddy, Notorious B.I.G. and Jimmy Henchman among others...It is quite the interesting read!

However Diddy was quick to respond to the allegations:
“This story is beyond ridiculous and is completely false. Neither Biggie nor I had any knowledge of any attack before, during, or after it happened. It is a complete lie to suggest that there was any involvement by Biggie or myself. I am shocked that the Los Angeles Times would be so irresponsible as to publish such a baseless and completely untrue story.”

Ursh and Tameka were spotted partaking in some retail therapy in L.A. this weekend, both sporting a mean stank face, some more effortless than others…

What’s more suspect than this relationship is the fact that we still have yet to see mini-me, Usher Raymond V?! Can the baby get some face time, it is definitely more welcomed around here.

All that walking around helped send halle Berry into labor and she delivered an undoubtedly beautiful baby girl at Cedars Sinai Hospital in L.A. The baby was born at 10:17 am Sunday morning and weighed a health 7 lbs 4 oz.

An insider tells Star Magazine that Halle returned to hospital after the being released Saturday...
"Halle had come to the hospital at 4am in the morning because the felt like she was going into labor. It was a bit scary because her blood pressure was skyrocketing and everyone was a little tense. She's a diabetic so that was complicating matters as well. The doctors checked the fetal heart rate and everything seemed okay. After a while Halle's blood pressure came down. She wasn't dilating anymore so at around 2:45pm they let her go home.

"Halle felt her contractions come on a lot more intensely later that night so she came back to the hospital at 11:00pm Saturday night.

"Halle was overcome with emotion when she finally held her little girl. She said everything she had gone through was worth that moment. The tears kept coming as Halle didn't even want the nurses to take her baby to clean her up and measure. It was a truly beautiful scene."
Congrats to the new mommy, welcome to the club... Now let the baby picture bidding war begin!

Eddie Murphy is a mess...According to the UK Daily Mail, he says that he was "tricked" into having a baby with Mel B and because of that he won't attempt to be apart of the baby girl's life. Not as long as he has to deal with her mother. Eddie says the three time affair ended with more than what he bargained for...
Although Eddie accepts that Angel is his daughter, he has said that he won't see the little girl, because he doesn't want to set eyes on Mel.

A source said: "He says he will have to wait until Angel is older before he can get to know her without any interference from her mother."

Secrets behind the couple's doomed three-month fling have been revealed in legal papers in which Eddie, 46, states that Mel allegedly asked him for a $9 million (£4.5million) house, plus living expenses for 18 years in exchange for her silence while she was pregnant.

But Eddie baulked at the demands and it is claimed he has since refused to see the baby and the Spice Girl.
Baby. Mama. Drama. It does not discriminate... But Eddie needs to let that ish go and be a father, Baby Angel didn't ask for ya'll foolishness.

A news reporter was attacked in South Carolina by the family of an accused murder's family...It's not funny, but it is...
Members of the victim's family attacked WSPA reporter Charmayne Brown.

Brown and her photographer, Ti Barnes, were across the street from the victim's house Tuesday when family members began yelling at them to leave. Brown says they were also yelling racial slurs at her and Barnes. Before she knew it, one of the women in the group rushed at Brown, punched her and dragged her to the ground.

Brown says at that point, it's hard for her to recall what was going on. But a photographer from another TV station caught the chaos on camera. WSPA's Satellite truck operator also saw the woman punching Brown and called 911.

Brown says at least two other people joined in on the attack. "I just had to try to defend myself. People were coming from everywhere. It was an uneasy situation for the both of us, trying to fight off a mob attacking us." [SOURCE]
I'm trippin' on how the dude is not trying to really help the reporter, he laughing...

After pleading guilty to charges of assaulting Juanita Bynum in court today, Bishop Thomas Weeks turned and openly apologized to her. Bishop weeks was sentenced to three years probation, plus he must undergo violence and anger counseling and complete 200 hours of community service that cannot be church-related. Apparently, the two, who are were in the midst of a divorce, met for the first time in months on Monday. Something changed after the "emotional" meeting and the pair are currently "in communication and working on their relationship and the status of their marriage," says Week attorney.

"When I saw him, it allowed me to reflect on the first time we got married," Bynum said. "I thought about the time wasted and the time lost, and I said, `This has got to stop.'" [SOURCE]

I know the Lord says forgive and forget, but these two are getting the side-eye on this one. Just last month, Juanita Bynum made sure to shoot down any reconciliation rumors.

The Enquirer says that Star Jones is planning to divorce Al and all his suspect-ness. Shocker, I know!
“They hadn’t been seeing eye to eye for months and had already spent a great deal of time apart,” a friend of the couple told the Enquirer. “Finally, Star decided it was over. She told Al at the end of January that he had 30 days to get his act together or ‘get out.’”

“Star is planning to divorce Al.” As for reason behind the split, the source added, “I think Star felt Al had spent their marriage riding her success while she did all the heavy lifting. She resented it. Deep down, Star is a very old-fashioned woman who believes a man should support her emotionally, physically and financially. She now believes Al failed her.” [SOURCE]
Of course her reps are denying the reports…and one thing we know is that there is always some truth to the rumors, it may be pea-sized, but always some…She has been flying solo lately!

So the best show on television is over, done, finito. *tear*

So much to wrap up in so little time, only an hour and 35 minutes! Did you expect what happened?

Discuss.

See my comments after the jump and tell me what you thought of the finale?

So, here are my thoughts on the finale.

Who would have thought Marlo would get off completely? In the preview, you saw that he was on the streets, but I didn’t think he would walk after all that dope.

I can’t believe Daniels was Commissioner for 2 days! Is it just me, or does his ex-wife always seem so much older than him? But good for him, he stood up for keeping those stats clean. But now you get Valchek, which makes Council President Narese Campbell happy! She is a dirty dirty chick.

Carcetti becomes Governor? Lord bless Maryland!

Bubbles finally gets it right, but Dukie is the new baby Bubbles. Ol’ Prezbo finally got the hang of it though. I wanted Dukie to make it out.

Michael is the new baby Omar, and delivers the best line of the whole night.
Old Man – “You just a boy.” Michael – “And that’s just your knee!” LMAO!

The notebook was empty! One lie to cover the next lie to cover the next, on some real Stephen Glass/Jayson Blair ish.

Damn the Cheese, always running his mouth…

Marlo just couldn’t leave those streets alone, had to take that corner back, but Slim gets the connect, he’ll run the streets, but he’ll get knocked off eventually. No one runs the corners long before getting caught or killed.

What happened to Avon? I just knew I saw a clip with him in it! He should be getting back on those streets soon enough. When he does, I think he’ll be like Marlo and won’t be able to leave those streets alone.

Freamon, still with the stripper, still making little wooden furniture, but never gets to follow the paper trail. Freamon was the best thing to happen to Baltimore PD.

Kima, I can’t believe she told McNulty and Freamon, it was her who snitched. *SMH* That was bold!

Bunk is still Bunk, now he should have his own show!

RIP Omar, Prop Joe, Snoop, D’Angelo, Stringer, Bodie, and Butchie…

I think it ended okay, the last 5 minute montage, told me more than the first hour and 30 minutes, but it tied up lots of strings.

One thing I love about The Wire is that they keep it real. You will get killed, no matter if people love you or not. No happy ending here, just more vicious cycles. Dukie had to become a crackhead and Michael had to become a little criminal. But Namond made it, thank goodness, away from that nut of a mother.

It really is the best show on television… Seasons 1, 3 and 4 were the best by far. This season went by pretty fast, but I didn’t like the paper storyline.

Thought?

The tides of history are rising higher and faster these days. Read them right and ride them, or be crushed. And then along comes Barack Obama, with the kinds of gifts that appear in politics but once every few generations. It's not just that he is eloquent — with that ability to speak both to you and to speak for you — it's that he has a quality of thinking and intellectual and emotional honesty that is extraordinary.

She recently opened up about not finding acceptance because of that, specifically being turned away from an NPHC sorority at Harvard University...
"I definitely learned my lesson. I'm back to that place were I'm like, 'You know what? I'm black, I'm white, I'm Jewish, I'm Irish, I'm Portuguese, I'm Welsh, what the f**k ever.' To me it's so inconsequential. "People still say things to me like, 'Oh my god, you're black? I would've never guessed that.' And I just think, I can't help your ignorance. There are bi-racial people who look like me or who look like Alicia Keys or who look like Halle Berry. I'm so proud to be so many things." [SOURCE]
That's what I'm saying! I HEART being bi-racial, its a blessing. But I know everyone wants to know which sorority she was trying to pledge. Any guesses?

In promotion of her season premiere of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kim sent Page Six some flicks of her and her boonopolous Reggie Bush [yes, it still hurts at times to think about it] during a recent vacay to the Dominican Republic... Kim arranged a dinner and cake for Reggie's birthday, and they supposedly spent their vacation lounging by the pool and receiving treatments at the spa before checking out of their approximately $1,000-per-night one-bedroom bungalow on Sunday.

Keeping Up With the Kardashians premieres on E! this Sunday, March 9, at 10 p.m. EST

Don't you wanna tune in to see these two on TV too?!

Note to JJ: Stop whispering, I can't hear you!

Check out the video for the second single, "Rock Wit U." Janet Jackson's Discipline debuted at number 1 on The Billboard 200 with 181,000 albums sold the first week, followed by Erykah Badu's New Amerykah.

Her last two Virgin albums, 2004's "Damita Jo" and 2006's "20 Y.O.," both debuted and peaked at No. 2, though "Damita" started with 381,000 while "20 Y.O." began with 296,000.

Did you catch that! So your number one with a fraction of your last album sales and those weren't event on top...In just a few years, the industry has declined just that fast. Can I get a ROI on the amount of promotional dollars poured into this album?

In case you missed it, check out Janet on Jimmy Kimmel Live PART 1 and PART 2.

Gnarls Barkley's new video for "Run" [view here] may not be safe on the eyes so it is yet to air on MTV in the UK...
That's because of its strobe effects, which caused the clip to fail the Harding Test -- a guideline established to prevent TV images from triggering epileptic seizures.

However, the Happy-directed video is available on various online outlets, and Gnarls Barkley's Danger Mouse tells Billboard he's hopeful the situation can be resolved shortly.

"I don't know exactly what's going on, but we're having issues. I think [the video] is cool. It works for me. But I'm not necessarily that easily seasick," he says with a laugh. "We can't predict how people are going to interpret it." [SOURCE]

Cassie is a cute chick...she's just not the best performer in the world, but that's not stopping Diddy from ordering up a sophomore album. Embracing her glam, she's been working a more sophisticated look lately.

In her new GQ feature she speaks on those pesky Diddy-lover rumors...
“It’s insane—you have hundreds of people texting you, ‘Is this true?’; I’m like, ‘Do you know me?’ People have this image of me—if only they knew who I am.”

Apparently umbrellas-ellas-ellas can be quite dangerous in the hands on Rihanna fans! After a several number of incidents including injuries, they decided to ban umbrellas on her UK tour. So now you can't bring them, but you can still buy on your way out!
Andy McDonald, a security guard at the Aberdeen Exhibition Centre, where Rihanna performed on Monday, said: "We were taking precautions over a potential accident. We were told Rihanna's song features dancing with umbrellas on stage. We didn't want the crowd following her actions and someone getting their eye poked out."

One fan due to attend one of the singer's upcoming shows said: "I was really looking forward to whipping out my umbrella during the song. I have been practicing the routine for weeks but it has all been for nothing." [SOURCE]

He'll remix your song and make it a hit, kick you off his tour, and his life may be a hot mess but he's a beast! He means it too, boy!

Yet another random R. Kelly leak, considered to be a Ne-Yo diss where he does some spoken word/rap like rambling about being a beast...

I can even lie though, I went to his concert and dude got hits for days...but like he said, his life is a HOT. MESS.

Finally some encouraging news that Whitney Houston will be making her comeback into the music world! *SNAPS* According to Jawn Murray's BV Buzz, Whitney will make her return to the stage officially in London on May 8th at the Caudwell Children's Legend Ball at Battersea Evolution.
"We are thrilled to have an artist of Whitney's caliber to headline the event," the charity's founder, John Caudwell, told Marie Claire UK. "Last year was a huge success and with Whitney's support, we are fully expecting this year's event to be bigger and better than ever."
I am patiently waiting for the new album... I think she is poised for a second reign as leading diva, just take your time and come with that heat!

Sooo...I finally got my new [and third] copy of The Temptations movie, which was like a cult classic for my crew in college. One of my favorite scenes is when Paul sings "For Once in My Life" at Haze's house after winning the Grammy. It was so emotional, I get caught up everytime I see it. But you have to have the full DVD movie to see it, because the TV airing usually cuts it out. So I started digging on YouTube and look what I found...

The above video is the original performance by Paul Williams of The Temptations on the television special TCB, originally broadcast on December 9, 1968 on NBC. It was said to have stolen the show and as you can see one of the most moving performances. Loved Paul because he could cut up with his move, though Blue is my favorite Temp...

Rihanna covers UK's Fabulous Magazine where she confesses that her "bum" is what rocks but her award winning legs keep her working. Plus, she offers that asset to the haters to kiss...

What do you like about your body?
My bum, and I keep working at it as I want it to be perfect. It makes my clothes look good – and guys like it!

And what do you like least?
My legs. I’m insecure about them. Everyone wants to have slim, perfectly-toned legs and I’m the same. I do weights but I don’t want my legs to bulk up so I do a lot of cardio. I’ve lost a lot of weight since I started working out and if I exercise every day for a week, I can drop several pounds. If I diet, I see even faster results.

What rule do you try to live by?

Make your haters your motivators. [Hang with Jigga]

Now she also proclaims her singledom, but this interview was probably done a while ago and pre-Chris Brown romp in the Indies...

Walking around and rolling on those nasty streets of London are one easy way to catch something, and Amy Winehouse surely has. In case you were wondering what those bumps were on her face, it’s impetigo. A very contagious bacterial skin infection. Not a good look. But that hasn’t stopped her from doing what’s she gonna do, her pal blabs “She's fine, she's not hiding away. She's never been one to care what people think." Don’t we know it…

This is why hand sanitizer is my best friend!

I remember being 20...the easy years in love, when everything was daisies and sunshine! It just warms my heart to these two all snuggled up and cute. Despite dodging camera most of the weekend while enjoying Paris Fashion Week, a few snapshots of Chris Brown and Rihanna have surfaced.

Chris Brown was spotted backstage at the John Galliano show and partying it up in VIP, even sneaking in some cuddle time. Must be nice.

Terri Vaughn decided to take a chance on love again and recently headed to Vegas to marry Karon Riley of the Cleveland Gladiators while awaiting the birth of her second baby boy. Plus, she talks about her upcoming docufilm on the plight of Black actresses.
Essence.com: Congrats on your documentary, Angels Can't Help But Laugh, which has been circulating the film festivals. What is the significance of the title?

Terri Vaughn: When I began filming the documentary I was in the midst of making a bold move—out of my [first] marriage. I was reading A Woman's Worth by Marianne Williamson, and there was a line I read that said, "angels can't help but laugh." Immediately, I knew that was the title for this project. For me, the title simply means that throughout all the trials and tribulations, we [as actresses] are still able to laugh and love what we do and stay motivated in the midst of it all.

Essence.com: In your docufilm, Regina King, Malinda Wiliiams, Tasha Smith and Sheryl Lee Ralph speak candidly about the struggle of Black actresses in Hollywood. Are you concerned that folks will perceive you all as ABWs (Angry Black Women)?

T.V.: I don't believe we came off as angry, but informative. Sometimes having a voice means that people are going to judge you. For once, I wasn't concerned about being judged by people because my focus was to create a forum to give voice to Black women and bring power and enlightenment. The film is proactive in creating dialogue and acknowledging the plight of Black actresses; its purpose is not to complain. If we just sit around and say nothing like we often do and no light is ever shed, then we're as much to blame for our position or lack thereof in Hollywood.

Essence.com: There were many older and younger actresses such as Gabrielle Union, Regina Hall, Nia Long and Sanaa Lathan who were not a part of that forum. Why?

T.V.: Honestly, I would just say they didn't get back to me. I know Gabrielle and Nia were out of town. I never heard back from Sanaa but did speak with Nia. A lot of it was scheduling because we only had two days to shoot it and then there were some who were afraid and didn't want to talk about it, and I understood that too. I still love them all and we're still friends because I do understand their positions of not being ready to voice their opinion on the matter.
