Beyoncé denies rumors that her boyfriend, Jay-Z, cheated on her with pop singer Rihanna in the new issue of Seventeen magazine, on stands now.

"When things are not true, you don't really think about it, you know what I mean? You're not scared of it, because it's not true. It's amazing — when you're a new artist (like Rihanna), people are curious," she says. "That just comes with being a beautiful girl and a celebrity. People try to link you up with everybody."

"I was 20 pounds lighter a couple months ago. I was able to become this character and not look like myself — that was my goal. It was fun 'cause I could wear things I never wear because they don't look good on me. But that lasted for a couple of weeks and then I was like, 'Enough of this — I'm eating!' " she says.

Beyoncé says she didn't feel sexy as a thinner woman.

"I'm a black woman and, you know, in our society, hips and thighs — that's what's considered beautiful. I'd go to radio stations and all the guys were like, 'What's wrong with you? Where's Beyoncé?' Even I would look in the mirror and I didn't feel like a woman … There are thin women I think are beyond sexy, and then there are heavier women I think are beyond sexy," she says.

She says that there are reasons why she's avoided getting pegged as a diva; the 25-year-old chalks it up to being a professional.

"I do a lot of TV shows, and I've worked with the same producers and directors for a long time because I'm professional: I'm on time, I say what I mean, I mean what I say. Especially with my record label — they work hard for me, and I work hard for them," she says. "I see the difference when someone says, 'You know, she's a good person, and I'm gonna do what I can to make sure she succeeds.' I just feel that whatever you put out comes back. Eventually when you do wrong or treat people bad, it does come back to get you."
