...because I am! So Fly. Slim of 112 has struck out on his own and I've been loving his debut single "So Fly" featuring Shawty Lo and Yung Joc. You know I could totally live with out Shawty Lo's 16 bars, but I am so feeling the song. Great laid back track for the summer, goes hard in the club as well.

I had the pleasure of interviewing Slim last weekend, so make sure you stay tuned for that exclusive. In the mean time, add this to your heavy rotation!

I really couldn't give a flying fig tree about Rick Ross and his alleged past as a corrections officer, but this was just funny!! I don't know who has that much time to photoshop his mug on all these posters but I am glad they did, I found them pretty entertaining.

I was super dee duper happy to see Joshua and Katee back together and their Paso Doble was breathtaking! It gave me chills... Joshua always amazes me that he has no classical training, and takes on all those ballroom routines. Of course every time Katee dance I think, 'geez, she almost didn't make it' and now she's poised to take it all.

UPDATE: Yay and 2 snaps for Joshua and Katee for making it to the final 4 with Twitch and Courtney. This is hard, but my guess is that Katee will win. I think. Or maybe Twitch. I don't know! Who do you think will win?

The buzz around The Secret Life of Bees has been growing slowly over the past year and it is finally set to be release October 17th. Featuring an all-star line up with Dakota Fanning, Queen Latifah, Sophie Okonedo, plus newcomers Jennifer Hudson and Alicia Keys, I am sure it will be on of the most anticipated movies of the fall.

Set in South Carolina in 1964, the film [based on the novel of the same name by Sue Monk Kidd] is the moving tale of Lily Owens a 14 year-old girl who is haunted by the memory of her late mother. To escape her lonely life and troubled relationship with her father, Lily flees with Rosaleen, her caregiver and only friend, to a South Carolina town that holds the secret to her mother's past. Taken in by the intelligent and independent Boatwright sisters, Lily finds solace in their mesmerizing world of beekeeping, honey and the Black Madonna.

Were you wracking your braining trying to figure out who was on the cover of Vibe Magazine’s 15th Annual “Juice Issue?” Yeah…me neither! But it comes at no surprise that it’s Jay-Z, who has arguably the most juice in the industry right now.

What I find just hilarious is the story right under the “cover reveal” on Vibe.com is about Prodigy responding to Jay Z and Nas from prison…

In Jay’s verse for Jeezy’s “Put On” Remix, he had a line for Prodigy: “I put Prodigy in his place on that Summer Jam screen.”

To that Prodigy sent a response…and I quote: “I think Jay-Z’s a b**ch *ss nigga.” You can listen to the audio HERE. I don't know what other ish she was talking about seeing that I really don't follow rap beef...

I love how chick is giving the “who is you?” look to Rihanna!

Rihanna, was spotted out in NYC, first grabbing a meal at her clearly favorite Da Silvana restaurant in the West Village and then later out for a bit of partying. Besides being sans her boo CB she also left the bra at home. She did pick up a new buddy, 106 & Park's Rocsi was there hitting the streets of NYC with her. Rocking the celeb-fave Herve Leger bandage skirt and black tank, I guess she didn’t realize just how sheer her top was until lights started flashing, giving on lookers a little peep…

Big Boi is back with his second solo effort, Sir Luscious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty, and the above is his first single "Sumthin' Gotta Give" featuring Mary J. Blige. A poignant song for the time, because I know I say 'sumthin' gotta give' every time I pull up to the pump to pay $4 a gallon!

Look out for cameos from DJ Drama, John Legend, and Hill Harper in the vid as well...

Once HBO figures it out, they plan to air it all...The network has been working to find a way to make Kanye West the next reality star.
Long before the writers’ strike began last November, the network began discussing whether to team the rapper with executive producer Larry Charles (Curb Your Enthusiasm) for a yet-to-be-named, single-camera series that would follow the busy life of the Grammy-winning artist and his relationship with family and friends. One key insider says HBO is now looking for a writer — and some creative inspiration — before moving forward with the project: “We need to figure out how to capture Kanye in the right way.” [SOURCE]

Little Miss Disney star is blossoming right in front of us... I saw the preview for KeKe Palmer's upcoming film Longshots which looks like another great family film that also costars Ice Cube, Tasha Smith and Jill Marie Jones. She is really growing up to be a sweet young lady, but she still has plenty of time to get grown. KeKe was out at Planet Hollywood in NYC promoting the new film today.

These morning news shows are just too early for me, good thing there's YouTube! Jennifer Hudson stopped by Good Morning America last week and I totally missed it. I've been wanting hear her perform "Spotlight" live and as usually she work it out! The purple dress is FAB, sans the green pumps. I love 'em, just not with this ensemble, I haven't really got with the miss-match trend. A little random color is good, I just didn't feel this one.

I most definitely love her blunt bob as well...

In a power move in the ongoing baby-mama-drama between 50 Cent and Shaniqua Tompkins, 50 Cent says he owns the right to her life story. Yes, you read that correct, the legal rights to her life story. Who knew that ish was even possible?!

He says, "I bought the rights to her life story so she couldn't write a book.

"I seen her being ridiculous; I knew her capabilities of going in that direction, so I bought the rights." [SOURCE]

No tell-all book for her! In other words, no money for her... I find that to be just hilarious and ingenious.

Michelle Obama is many things including intelligent, sophisticated, and definitely fashionable! The soon-to-be First Lady [I claim that!] make Vanity Fair's International Best Dressed List. She's in good company with fashion enthusiast, Kanye West also making the list.
MICHELLE OBAMA Because she’s our commander in sheath.
Residence: Chicago.
Occupation: Vice president for community and external affairs, University of Chicago Hospitals, on leave.
Age: 44. Notable ensembles of 2008: Maria Pinto purple sheath, with a black Azzedine Alaïa belt, worn when her husband claimed the Democratic presidential nomination; Donna Ricco black-and-white print dress on The View.
Causes: “Youth leadership programs, education, talking with women about work/family life balance.”
The purple sheath dress is my top pick, it was elegant, simple, and chic! It said I'm professional, I'm a mother, but I'm fly too.

The now 29 year old Harvard grad is looking forward to more TV, film and music endeavors, with a sophomore album, The Light, in the works.

All the crazy chicks please stand up and thank Jazmine Sullivan for another banger..."Bust the Windows" is the latest track to leak in full from her upcoming debut Fearless. I immediately loved the song, the strings, and melody, all fabulous! Salaam Remi [think Amy Winehouse, Fugees] is an awesome producer and delivers another great track. I have officially joined her growing list of stans.

Jazmine Sullivan is definitely a welcomed fresh voice to the industry that is lacking so much personality and talent.

...her "vlogging virginity" that is! Her stylist Tim put her up to it and in one less comparison to big sis Beyonce, Solange is definitely not as shy to share her personal life with people. It's more giggling and "I don't know"s than worthwhile info, but it may make you giggle too...or maybe not?!

I totally subscribed, I can't even lie. I really want to see more of lil' Creole Pimp Daniel to be honest!

Rihanna, Chris Brown, Mama Brown and the crew took time out to enjoy the summer days and get in a little jet skiing in Ocean City, Maryland. The hush hush couple were also spotted out this weekend at King's Dominion Theme Park in Virginia. Sound like fun to me! I love how fashionable Rihanna is with her huge hoop earrings...paps are always watching.

...in his underwear! Nelly joins the ranks of Mark Wahlberg, Djimon Hinsou, and David Beckham as the newest male celebrity spokesmodel to drop his pants for the new Sean Jean underwear collection. Diddy found the perfect person to rep for the brand he says...
“To me, Nelly is the quintessential definition of the Sean John man,” Diddy said in a statement. “And let’s be honest, all of the ladies out there are going to be thanking us for this campaign.”
Yes...Thank you Diddy! You done well there for us ladies! Nelly is happy to take it off for the ladies as well
“I have been a big fan of Diddy and the Sean John clothing line for years. So when they asked me to work with them, it was a real honor. I hope my fans will enjoy this campaign as much as I did shooting it.”
Confirmed: I enjoyed it very much! See more underroo goodness after the jump...

Miss Ci Ci goes glam on the cover of Aug. 2nd's Billboard Magazine. In the cover feature the "former Princess of Crunk n' B" is looking to hit another level in her musical career...
"My mission is to take fans on a musical journey to three different sounds that represent me," Ciara says. "The music flows together. It's about the journey and having fun through music. I can give you a basic album in a 12-song layout, but I wanted to be more creative."
Unfortunately, her film career has already hit a snag as what was to be her first major film, Mama I Want to Sing is set to go straight to DVD. Sadly, it no surprise! The movie, which also stars Lynn Whitfield, Patti LaBelle, and Hill Harper, will be out sometime in early 2009. In good news, she is signed to Whilemina Models and is looking to be the face of new beauty and fashion campaign as she did in 2007 with RocaWear.

FINALLY...Geez, Diddy's been so busy cleaning up his jump off rumors that he made Danity Kane wait 12 years to drop their second single! I love "Damage" but if I hear "Do...Do you" one mo 'gain, I'm gonna scream.

I like "Bad Girl" but it wasn't my first choice for a single. The video is fly with the comic book theme. Remember how Dawn was creating a comic hero girl when they came up with the name DK. Anyhow, I hate the red wig on Aubrey and the black one on Shannon, they looked cheap. Oh and peep Q playing Dawn's love interest. Hmmmm.

Star Magazine dropped a rumor that Diddy and Cassie were engaged, which beyond the obvious question mark, it comes right after a story that they ended their unconfirmed relationship...
"He told everyone to keep it extremely quiet because he didn't want it to get out, but you could tell he was excited," says a source. "Diddy said they hadn't set a date yet, but he wanted his family to hear the news first."

Diddy revealed his engagement to the Connecticut native at his son Justin's eighth-grade graduation ceremony in Riverdale, N.Y., on June 5.
However, both Diddy and Cassie couldn't let this rumor go too far. Diddy left some cryptic message on DiddyTV called "Run P. Diddy Run" and I totally didn't get it, but his MySpace bulletin was titled "I'm not getting married."

Cassie, or her handlers rather, posted a bulletin on MySpace...
HEY! The purpose of this note is simply to clear up a rumor. The newest one is that I am engaged. That rumor is completely false and I have no clue how it came to be or why it got so big, but it's not true, real talk.

Whether or not you've heard about it, thank you for your time :) Stay Blessed!

x.
Cassie
I could see if the rumor was that they were smashing...that's believable. Married? Nahhhhh...

Sherri Shepherd reacts to the quotes that were released from her feature in a Christian magazine about abortions and about Barbara Walters being saved. All is well on The View none-the-less, the ladies chimed in of course, but she cleared up any miscommunication.

Sherri Shepherd is sharing more than we may have wanted to know in her recent feature in the Christian women's magazine Precious Times.
"My sister was heavy into drugs, and we would have to go and get her from crack houses," Shepherd, 41, says.

At the time, the stand-up comic — then a Jehovah's Witness – was "in a very physically abusive relationship," she said. "I was sleeping with a lot of guys and had more abortions than I would like to count."

She said her self-esteem became so low, "I felt if someone killed me, it wouldn't even make a difference."

But after converting to Christianity, she said, "God showed me that it would make a difference." [SOURCE]
Sherri also shares more about her divorce after her husband cheated on her and got another woman pregnant, which she says faith helped her get through.

I'm no one to judge so if her sharing helps another, then that's fab. Plus, I know faith can get you through the storms of life. So Amen, speak on it. Sounds like she's been through some ish too. Maybe a book deal will come her way?!

Um...It is disturbing! Dave LaChapelle is known for his ability to push the envelope and be daring so I'm not surprised at all. It works with the song, she looks damn disturbed with the blonde wig and white eyes. Freaky! 2 snap for you...

I like it though, her videos have been very well done, so this adds to a nice collection of visuals for her album. Baby girl just can't seem to do much wrong in the pop scene right now, she making that money, becoming a little Black Madonna. At this point, all I can say Bitch, you betta work!

Ne-Yo, who is releasing his next album Year of the Gentleman on August 5th, has released his second single "Miss Independent." It took me until like last week to really start feeling "Closer," so I was surprised when I actually felt the track off the bat. It has a Euro-dance feel to me with the mid-tempo beat. I don't think he hit it out of park with this one, tough. I'm sure he has better material on the album, so I'm not sure why this is the next single. I would have expected a ballad maybe to go with the "gentleman" theme.

I'm sure this will be the hot "MySpace profile" song now...

Damn, one line in a song might as well be credited for single handedly killing Scott Storch's career... Not that I miss the Casper the Ghost-impersonator, but he straight fell off, and hard! Little by little stories about his misfortune have come out, but now he's a fugitive who has seen a hit in over 3 years.
Just a few years ago, Scott Storch was one of the top producers in pop music, living in a $10.5 million mansion on an exclusive Miami island, driving a phalanx of luxury cars and dating the likes of Paris Hilton and Lil Kim.

Nowadays, Scott Storch, 34, is missing in action. He owes over $500,000 in real estate taxes and had a warrant out for his arrest when he failed to show up in court in a child-support case last month. He has not had a top 10 hit in three years. He still has his waterfront marble mansion, but his lawyer, Guy Spiegelman, says Storch is attempting to refinance it after a "catastrophic occurrence this year" resulting from "mismanagement." Storch no longer works with his old manager or publicist. He hasn't talked to either of his children in months. [SOURCE]
Damn shame...
