Lagniappe: My connection to Effie!
OK, I may be a little obsessed with Dreamgirls at this point!

I have the novelized version of the movie, the Deluxe Edition Soundtrack that is on constantly in my car and at home, and I am going to see it again tonight...

Anyhow...I just found a nice connection Effie White...

Her middle name is my name! Effie Melody White! The only character with a given middle name!

Also, is there an Effie White curse?
