Even though Project Runway's Michael Knight didn't win the title prize, the viewer favorite did get him $10,000 and he hasn't slowed down a bit!

Former Project Runway contestant Michael Knight has a shining smile. His confidence comes through when you see the braces-filled grin he flashes when he walks into a room.

Knight, who also goes by Mychael Knight now (because the Website MichaelKnight.com was taken), has clearly been keeping himself busy since the show ended.

Working on a new line of clothing and ready-to-wear fashion, Knight also spends some of his time dressing celebrity clients and giving fashion advice to those who need an expert opinion.

Knight, whose semi-overnight fame came in a huge wave, is not fazed by the sudden attention. He seems to have a classic cool attitude, a fresh outlook on life and a way of interacting with adoring fans that reflects his southern manners.

Standing in front of him this past Wednesday night at a mixer held by Atlanta Peach Magazine and Intermix, I could see why so many people are intrigued by his charm, charisma and character.

As I was introduced to Knight, he gave me the once- over and determined he liked my jumper. Prior to my arrival, I had been nervous I was not going to be dressed fashionably enough for the designer, who was at the event to style women in Intermix clothing.

I realized that part of Knight's appeal is his ability to make everyone he meets feel just as confident and self-assured as he is. Because of his winning personality, and possibly due to the fact he is not hard on the eyes, over 10 million people voted Knight the fan favorite on Project Runway. He made it to the final four on the show but did not win the final challenge of designing the best collection for fashion week.

Although he admits it would have been nice to win, his mantra remains "fashion is my life" and is determined to be the next big thing. Compared to the likes of celebrity fashion designer Zac Posen, Knight knows continuing to work hard is the only way to make it to the top.

For this particular event, Knight dressed in a stripped turtle neck, a navy velvet blazer, jeans and sneakers - a combination of street and chic which he calls his new look.

New look or old, Knight's unique style and effervescence make people gravitate toward him and make him one of the definite designers to watch.

Based in Atlanta, this hometown boy has visions of grandeur and will surely be met with success - just wait and see.
