It has all come to a crashing halt as Detroit Mayor, Kwame Kilpatrick has entered a deal to plea guilty to two felony counts of obstruction of justice by committing perjury. Kwame has embattled over a year of political drama, a text message scandal and criminal charges. The end result: 120 days in jail, 5 years probation, his resignation as Mayor, the loss of his ability to practice law, and to pay whopping $1 million in restitution!

He can not run for office during those 5 years and will turn over his state pension to the City of Detroit, which paid $8.4 million to settle two whistle-blower lawsuits three former cops filed against the city.
Kwame told the court: "I lied under oath in the case of Gary Brown and Harold Nelthrope versus the city of Detroit ... I did so with the intent to mislead the court and jury, to impede and obstruct the disposition of justice." [SOURCE]
All because he lied under oath, trying to hide one thing, which inturn uncovered his sorted affair with his Chief of Staff Christine Beatty [who hasn't entered a plea and will appear in court Sept. 11th]. This is one of the fundamental things we teach children, that covering a lie with another lie, with another lie, only makes it worse.

It's disappointing because it paints young, African American politicians in such a horrible light. As if we can't hold an executive position without scandal and abuse of power.

As they say...IT'S SO COLD IN THE D!
