Amanda Divb posted the above video for her AMANDA ALL DAY...DIVA WHEN NECESSARY webisodes and responds to some of the critics that had sh*t to say about her recent Floetry Remix tour...I find her flow fresh, I think she's original. I enjoyed her show and definitely loved her with Marsha. If you missed the review of the concert, check it out.

I had the pleasure of making it out to see Emily King live at the New Orleans House of Blues as she opened for Floetry Remixed, featuring Marsha Ambrosius and Amanda Diva. Off top, it was one of the best live performances I've been to. As you know, Emily is a friend to the blog and one of the hottest artists to hit the scene this year. I introduced you all to her earlier this year and she not only on the road, but her album, East Side Story is debuting this month on August 28th. It's been a long time coming for the 22-year old singer/songwriter who also plays a mean guitar, but it is well worth the wait! Emily definitely walked away with new found fans in the Bayou state!

We had a chance to chit chat it up backstage after her set! If you didn't know, she is the sweetest person you could meet, very open and an all around fun girl!

Continue reading to see more exclusive shots from the show with Emily King and Floety Remix, plus a review of the show, which was one not to be missed!

Emily King, rocking a cute "tainted love" tee, hit the stage and performed her very personal song "Colorblind" which is one of her soulful songs that I think really grabbed the audiences from jump. Singing all of the great songs on her sampler, "You and I," "Hold Me," the Bill Wither's cover "Ain't No Sunshine," and her first single "Walk in My Shoes" all of which seem to come out effortlessly. Emily worked the stage, introducing new songs from the upcoming album like "Business Man" which is a poignant social commentary that she wrote at the age of 16...

Being able to catch her live is very telling of her great talent for singing and performing! She is definitely an artist that you want to see live and in person because you can really appreciate her music! No bells and whistles to distract from her voice or the lyrics...Meeting up with her after her set, she eemed to truly be at home performing, not a sign of nervousness or fatigue. I think because she loves what she does, she exudes music and she is very genuine!

Floetry Remixed hit the stage next...I must say that the recent addition of Amanda Diva is still not common news as a couple of people in the restroom before the show still didn't know that the show was sans Natalie Stewart. Did it matter? Not so much...When Amanda [rocking the side curls and Kangol] came out, I didn't hear a gasp or a rumbling of confusion. As soon as they went into their set the crowd was rockin'!

The best part of this for me is that seeing them live is an experience you can't get from a cd or online. Fresh new music from an awesome collaboration. Amanda Diva as a great flow and don't be fooled, she can sing as well...Marsha has a flow too, so don't get that twisted either! They even broke down a "remix" of T-Pain's "Buy You [Me] a Drink" that was hot! The DJ did a fresh mix of New Orleans classics that had the crowd jumping! I am looking forward to hearing some recorded collaboration of Marsha and Amanda. Plus if you haven't figured it out...Amanda didn't "replace" Natalie, they aren't "broken up" officially, but this is a different version, for lack of a better word, of the Floetry brand, which is still about good music and giving hot live performances. To me, Amanda Diva has more of a hip-hop element to her flow which I like much more.

Of course Marsha's voice is flawless and captures you soon as she opens her mouth! So if you are near a city that the tour is stopping in, you have to see their show. I think it is well worth it see them!! Plus Emily King is one not to be missed!

With the realization of rumors that Floetry had broken up and the new Floetry Remix Tour headed out, Marsha posted a blog on Myspace to clarify [somewhat] the deal, or her side of the story at least. Clearly there was and maybe still is tension between the original members and Natalie Stewart has gone a different path, with out Marsha...Personally I am excited about Amanda Diva teaming with Marsha, more than the original...but that's just me! I think that Marsha is incredible as a vocalist and songwriter! Read waht she had to say:

1st of all, Natalie Stewart was never replaced... However, at the end of the Flo'ology tour December 5th 2006 in Birmingham, UK, right after the show, Natalie wished me safe travels and we hadn't spoken since.. well until a few weeks ago... of course there are things that happened between us and will remain on my part between us yet there was evidence of a separation in the group way b4 these rumors came to light...

you see, myspace.com tells you what you need to know about a person, or what you want them to know about you... whilst Nat nor myself were communicating, I took the easy road and I went to check out her page coz a fan hit me with the link like wtf!!! this was early this year... so i see on Nat's personal page "Life After Floetry... Natalie Stewart is... Super Heroine..." and I'm like OK, she got her Code Records poppin, she was doin her... grown woman, had to respect the M.O... so I'm back in Philly, she's in the UK, we're not talking, I see "Life After Floetry..." to me, she left...

so, I'm getting calls from label people, management, etc... they let me know what was being said and done and I'm like damn... what to do now... coz its all personal, but Nat has been like my sister and I'll back her 100... but at some point, I gotta say or/and do somethin... I had to do me, I just want to make music... personal shyt aside... I've put blood sweat and tears into Floetry, when people see me out anywhere, I'm the chick from Floetry, its my aka, my ID... so, I'm continuing a brand that I sure as helped build and I'm creating opportunities for projects that I believe in... I believe in the Floetry brand and I am continuing and chose to do so with Amanda Diva on the "Floetry Remixed Tour"

"Floetry Remixed" came about very suddenly...I met Amanda Diva thru a friend and we creatively clicked instantly... I can't control promoters, i can't control gossip sites, what I can give you is my word.... not one of them sites had a quote from me saying nothing... every promoter of the Floetry Remixed tour knew what it was going in... I'm about the music... I'm about being on the road and giving the music to the people... I respect that everyone is so passionate and concerned about music... makes me wanna be better at what I do... but, as always, I respect other people's moves... I'll let you do you... I'm a friend till the end... but when it gets all crazy, at some point I have to see things for what they really are... if its not working, its not working... i can't please everybody... I can't, i tried that... got me in a whole bunch of shyt... guess if I'd a grown up sooner, things woulda been different but I can't live like that, I just gotta LIVE... and let LIVE...

Natalie Stewart: you are my sister... blood... an important part of me being here doing what I dreamed about for the longest and you know that... I support you 100... you know how we get when its all personal and emotional and so very separate... we are different, and that's OK... you know me... I wish you well... all my luv...

at the end of the day, its all luv and music... if only it was that simple... :)

A few months ago I heard mumbles that Floetry had split [for unconfirmed "relationship" issues]... But to steal from Laurie Ann [the gotcha gotchas never stop], one monkey don't stop no show and Floetry Remixed was born when radio personality and floacist in her own right, Amanda Diva signed on to replace Natalie Stewart. Amanda will join Marsha Ambrosius on The Floetry Remixed Tour, which kicked off this week, and perform new flows for Floetry past hits as well as perform new music! If you didn't know and had a rap game, check out 40 Emcees.
