In a moment of TMI, Ne-Yo reveals a few things as he performs for Power 106's Big Boy Backstage Breakfast, that I could live without knowing... Like losing his virginity at 9 to a 15 year old [insert side-eye here] and how many chicks he's smashed since his debut. Just nasty.

Sigh... love Jamie Foxx! This is the remix of "Miss Independent" featuring Jamie and Fabolous. Check for cameos from Jill Marie Jones, Eve, Keisha Cole and Estelle. Love the real slow groove of the song.

"Good Morning Ne-Yo!" Check out the second single from Ne-Yo's Year of the Gentleman which is due September 16th... The video was directed by Chris Robinson and as you may remember features Gabrielle Union, Lauren London, and Keri Hilson. I also spotted ANTM Cycle 7 reject Monique Calhoun, she's the first office chick.

Video came out nice though...

Did you go out to buy "Year of the Gentlemen" this week? If you did... Ne-Yo says, "Sorry!" because it's been moved to September 16.

“To everybody that went to the store in August, I just want to personally apologize for the confusion and the delay. I just had to make sure it was RIGHT RIGHT ya know??” says Ne-Yo from his Year of the Gentleman blog.

He recently shot the video for his second single "Miss Independent" and called in the heavy hitters with Lauren London, Gabriel Union, and Keri Hilson. All three doing their fabulous thing! Trey Songz makes a cameo as well...

Ne-Yo, who is releasing his next album Year of the Gentleman on August 5th, has released his second single "Miss Independent." It took me until like last week to really start feeling "Closer," so I was surprised when I actually felt the track off the bat. It has a Euro-dance feel to me with the mid-tempo beat. I don't think he hit it out of park with this one, tough. I'm sure he has better material on the album, so I'm not sure why this is the next single. I would have expected a ballad maybe to go with the "gentleman" theme.

I'm sure this will be the hot "MySpace profile" song now...

Musical BFFs Rihanna and Ne-Yo both released videos for their singles "Take a Bow" and "Closer" respectively. Rihanna's is really simple and chic, which I like. The Porsche is crazy!

Ne-Yo, who has signed on to open for Alicia keys on her upcoming tour, says he’s "a little bored" with urban music…
"There's some stuff on there that sounds like something the Beatles might've done," Ne-Yo told Billboard. "There's some stuff on there that sounds like something Billy Joel might've done. I can't do just straight urban music no more, because to be completely honest with you, I'm a little bored with it. I'm just moving with what music excites me now." [SOURCE]
He goes on to say that he is looking to find a more mature audience, and hopes his fans are “smart enough” to catch on…

Dude…you are not that deep No-No!

Ne-Yo shot the video for the the first single off his next planned release, "Closer" at Santa Clarita Studios. His new album, Year of the Gentleman, is due June 24th.

According to Billboard.com, Ne-Yo says he was inspired by Rat Packers like Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr. as he conceptualized the new album. "Years ago, if you weren't wearing the right suit or have a correct crease in your pants, you couldn't even get in the door --let alone on stage to perform," he says. "For me, the sharpness of Sammy and Sinatra is the kind of style I strive for in clothes and music. 'Year of the Gentleman' is named in honor of those guys."

Check out the bonus track "Make Me Sick"off Danity Kane's new album, Welcome to the Dollhouse. If you haven't had a chance, check out the exclusive interview with Dawn Richard. The added track is a mid-tempo, dance-friendly song, that has a pretty catchy chorus.

Ne-Yo is working on his next release and this is the first leaked track, set to be his first single off the album. As a skilled songwriter, he has no problem writing hit songs, especially for himself. He definitely knows how to make a song memorable, even if you are not feeling him all that much...You can look for his album this June.

So I was pretty ticked that I got damn ticket yesterday, but now I know I'm not the only one! But I didn't end up in jail, nor do I have a receding hairline that got exposed! LOL...

No-No got popped for reckless driving and not having a valid drivers license in Cobb County, Ga.

According to TMZ Cops pulled Ne-Yo after they observed him driving well over 100 mph in his 2006 Range Rover. He was arrested for reckless driving and for not having a valid license.

This is clearly why hats are an essential Shaffer...Like your Amex, never leave home without it!

Ne-Yo addressed a number of thing with Essence.com, from the R. Kelly Tour, to being gay, to his baby mama [that's not really his baby] drama... That's the most interesting part for me. Ne-Yo seems to not filter he words from his brain to his mouth so we get the good on what going on with their court situation...

Essence.com: You’ve been the target of many rumors, but I love that you keep it moving. Let’s address the rumor regarding your financial dispute with your son’s mom, who was supposedly getting evicted due to your refusing to pay child support. Is that true?

N.Y.:
There is truth to some of it. She was being evicted because I refused to pay her rent any longer once I found out her child was not my biological son. But I’ve been his father since the day he came on his earth so I told her anything he needs I got him, but you are a grown a-- woman with working arm and legs—ain’t nothing wrong with you so go get yourself a job.

Essence.com: Why in the world would she try to take you to court after you agreed to give financial support in raising her son?

N.Y.:
She wasn’t happy with the amount I offered to give her and said, ‘No, I need more.’ So she decided to take me to court. I asked her why and told her she wouldn’t win because he was my not biological son. So I said, ‘Fine, you get nothing. Let’s go to court.’

Essence.com: Whoa! So why did you wait to get a blood test?

N.Y.:
Well, she told me when she got pregnant that it could be between me and another guy, so I knew that from the beginning. When the baby was born everyone assumed that he was mine because he looked so much like me so no one really questioned it except my mother because she never trusted her and urged me to get a blood test.

Essence.com: How did that discovery affect you?

N.Y.
: It hurt me for a minute, but you know....

Essence.com: Do you still see him?

N.Y.:
No, because she doesn’t allow me to, so what can I do? As a mother she has the right, I don’t.

Well, I can't blame him. She's duck for trying to ask for more money when that's not his child. The family court doesn't uphold verbal agreements and if he's not legally the father he has no requirement to support him. Hope he didn't put his name on the birth certificate...that's a legal document so then he could be held liable, but other than that he's doesn't have to pay anything.

Ne-Yo may have been dismissed from the Double Up Tour, but he still wants his paper homie! Ne-Yo is suing the promoter Rowe Entertainment for the full amount negotiated to open for your boyfriend Kells.

The suit maintains Ne-Yo, born Shaffer Smith, was to be paid $785,000 for opening the 25-stop tour alongside singers Keyshia Cole and J. Holiday. The outing began Nov. 14, and Ne-Yo was fired prior to the third show on Nov. 19 and is still owed $735,000. Compound Touring and Smith are seeking unspecified damages.

Ne-Yo claims that "an unknown representative of R. Kelly urged Rowe to terminate Smith from the tour given the audience's and critics' more favorable reaction to Smith than the reaction to R. Kelly," the suit states. Compound Touring spent "substantial monies in preparation for the tour and turned down other touring and performance opportunities for Smith in reliance on Rowe's agreement that Smith would perform on the tour," according to the suit.

Sounds like a long court battle to me. He'll have to prove he was unjustly removed from the tour, which is subjective already, to say that he should be paid the remaining balance for work not done.

Ne-Yo dropped in on Tigger's show on 95.5 to talk about the drama that has become his short-lived time on the Double Up Tour with R. Kelly after being dropped. He had a few things to say about the situation, among them that Kells requested all 7 dressing rooms in Columbus, Ga. and Ne-Yo had to finagle a room for him and his dancers, Kells bumped him from rehearsal in half the time alloted, and that Kells requested no one to be in the hallway when he walks through. Talk about a diva demands. Plus he addresses the Keyshia Cole rumors, his fans, and the reviews...

According to the following press release, Ne-Yo has been dropped from the Double Up Tour after only 2 shows over a reported unsigned contract...
Yesterday, Shaffer Smith aka Ne-Yo was informed that he was being dropped from the rest of the R Kelly tour after delivering two sensational performances. Entertainment reporters, music critics, bloggers, fans, and concert goers all agreed that Ne-Yo's performances brought the heat; but maybe it brought too much heat.

"I don't understand their actions because I was rehearsing, doing media, promoting the tour, and performing, said Ne-Yo. In my opinion, I was doing everything possible to make the tour a success. I love being on stage in front of fans because of the immediate feedback you get. You know right away if they are feeling you; and they were really feeling our show."

Ne-Yo expressed genuine concern regarding not having the opportunity to complete the tour. He wanted all of his fans and supporters to be able to see him live. "To my fans and ticket holders – I apologize if you are disappointed."
Hmmm...reviews so far have given Ne-Yo's show two-thumbs up, despite Keyshia's rumored diva demands and Kells technical difficulties...Could Ne-Yo be hotter than R. Kelly? Ionno 'bout allat! But something is clearly suspect with this one.
