I was super duper excited when I learned that Avant was planning on returning with another album this year after moving to Capitol Records. His voice one of my favorites in R&B and that's alway important to me. When you have a great voice, you can sing the phone book and people will love it. He actually has a crazy following, I know I'm not the only one!

His first single from is upcoming 5th album release, Avant, is a great mid-tempo ballad "When It Hurts." He still has that vocal swag that we are used to and I love the Eric Dawkins and Tony Dixon produced track. I was fortunate to check out an advance of the album and it is fabulous, you'll love it! Lots of great ballads and some uptempo tracks...look for a review and interview as his we get closer to the release date on October 28th!

...because I am! So Fly. Slim of 112 has struck out on his own and I've been loving his debut single "So Fly" featuring Shawty Lo and Yung Joc. You know I could totally live with out Shawty Lo's 16 bars, but I am so feeling the song. Great laid back track for the summer, goes hard in the club as well.

I had the pleasure of interviewing Slim last weekend, so make sure you stay tuned for that exclusive. In the mean time, add this to your heavy rotation!

My girls always tease me for having an “inner white girl” but what can I say, I’m a biracial girl from Cali born in the 80’s… I grew up loving New Kids on the Block, Joey Lawrence and Save by the Bell! So when it comes to music, I love my pop!

So I thought I’d drop off some of my “songs of moment”… You may love them already and if not you may want to add them to your heavy rotation. Little bit of pop, little country, little rock!

LISTEN: Katy Perry – “I Kissed a Girl”
If you haven’t heard this song, you clearly live in a cave in Alaska because it’s been no. 1 for the past four weeks. I remember hearing it a few months ago on XM, I kind of liked it but then I added it to my playlist and listen to it about 6 times a day. I mean it’s no. 1 so they play it a million times a day, but every time it comes on I turn it up and sing along.

LISTEN: Carrie Underwood – “Last Name”
Okay, so I can’t say I listen to country on the regular, actually I don’t listen to the genre at all, but a good song is a good song and Carrie Underwood has one of the best voices in music today. I love my Dixie Chicks too, though. Anyhoo… her current single is just fun and I love it!

LISTEN: OneRepublic – “Say (All I Need)”
OneRepublic’s album Dreaming Out Loud is one my favorites of ’07. They got a lot of play when they teamed up with Timbaland to revamp “Apologize” but there next 2 singles were just as fab. “Stop and Stare” is also a favorite but this newest single is one my favorites from the album overall. I love Ryan Tedder’s voice…

LISTEN: Pussycat Dolls – “When I Grow Up”
Poor Nicole just couldn’t swing it without her backup dancers, but she still steals the spotlight as the lead singer. Sometime you have to stick with what you know… I actually didn’t really feel the song at first listen when they performed it on the MTV Movie Awards, but when I heard it again on the recorded version it stuck… It’s just a great dance song.

This right here is my real B. Diddy, my boy Ray Lavender just released the video for his second single, "Stay." I've been on this joint for a minute and it's still a great song. I've always been a fan of Tank and he's penned another great ballad.

Some may not know Ray, though he had another single, "My Girl Got A Girlfriend" that had moderate success in some regions but the song is pretty risque so it didn't catch wind around the bible belt.

I actually caught him live when he opened for J. Holiday and Keyshia Cole. Very sexy. I recently interviewed him, so be on the look out for that exclusive!

Danity Kane and the MTB fam finally made it to the stage in their opening night at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC last night. I was a bit doubtful for a minute, at least 3 shows have been axed, but they still have a hand full of dates on the tour.

Here is a clip of the ladies performing "Poetry," which is one of my "Songs of the Moment" right now! You can scan YouTube fore more clips from the show. So far they were pretty good, but make sure to call me if one takes a tumble down some stairs or gets a hat thrown at their heads. I keed keed...

She totally won me over with her first single "Bubbly" that I had to check out her debut album Coco and fell in love with this song. It's my favorite by far, it just makes me sing along and for some reason I just feel the song.

And can you believe that American Idol passed on her? Just shows you that it's not the end all, be all in singing talent. She's actually a MySpace prodigy, she pulled a Cassie and got noticed on the site, landing her a record deal.

J Records' newest import Leona Lewis won over Simon Cowell [huge feat] and is quickly winning over Americans with her debut single "Bleeding Love" which is my new "Song of the Moment!" Loves It! Simon introduced her officially on Oprah yesterday, which is pretty big... She been compared to Mariah, Whitney, and Celine and snagged the American Idol predecessor's "The X Factor" title in 2006.

Ledisi - "Alright"

I'd heard of Ledisi and just hadn't heard her music, so I thought...but I'd heard this song a few times but just recently I hunted it down and added to my daily rotation. I *heart* "Alright."

Get lifted! Her album is Lost and Found, which I hear is good, you know getting nominated for a Grammy as best R&B album and best new artist and all...Check her out at Ledisi.com
