Mother Carter Honored for Service...


Jay-Z's mother honored for outstanding contributions to the community...I mean she did raise one of the hottest rappers and businessmen too! So kudos to her.

Gloria Carter, Jay-Z's mother, was honored in New York yesterday for her oversight of the Shawn Carter Scholarship Fund, which mentors students and helps disadvantaged youth with college tuition. Queens Councilman Thomas White Jr. sponsored the ceremony at City Hall, where the award for "outstanding contributions from the community" was presented among a crowd of councilpeople and Carter's son, Jay-Z.
