Cheri Dennis is so getting played, but I am glad she is at least one step closer to getting some airplay. Her first single "Portrait of Love" seems a bit simplistic and uninspired, but I like it. I can always do without the random raps from Yung Joc and Gorilla Zoe though!

Her new album, In and Out of Love, is available on iTunes now but the actual physical release isn't until next year [cross your fingers].

I'm going to need Rodney King to retreat to some small town far, far away, because clearly he can't keep it together. I would have taken that $3.8 million and moved to the beach by my lonesome. Talk about a story to tell, beat by LAPD, popped for DWIs and now shot in the face while drunk...
An intoxicated King summoned officers to his home in Rialto, about 60 miles east of Los Angeles, on Wednesday night to report he had been shot, said Sgt. Don Lewis of the Rialto Police Department.

"He had some minor pepper wounds that looked like they were from bird shot," said Lewis, who described the injuries as "extremely minor."

Lewis said King told police the shooting took place while he was riding his bicycle in neighboring San Bernardino. King rode his bicycle home after the incident and it was not immediately clear who fired the shot, Lewis said.

"(King) and the whole house were very intoxicated and very uncooperative," Lewis said. King was treated at a local hospital, and the investigation was turned over to San Bernardino police. [SOURCE]

He was on a bike? Not a surprise at all.

This is hilarious! They say everyone has a twin, in this case Gary Dourdan, who stars in CSI, has a crackish cousin named Demitris Hirsch [right, just in case you were confused] who was arrested yesterday in Lafayette, La. on charges of aggravated battery with a dangerous weapon.

Why did he have to be from Louisiana? As Fresh would say, Why Must I Cry?

This cat could be on his sophomore album by now with his mixtape full of solid songs and a slew of unreleased tracks like "A Love of Your Own," and the Japan only release, "City Boy." The good news is that he is looking to release a deluxe edition with additional songs that the fans have been asking for! This is the other bonus track from the Japanese release called "Good For Each Other," and the live horns are fire! Loves it...

In other J. Holiday news, if you missed his Access Granted on BET for "Suffocate" you can watch the full episode at BET On Blast.

Plus today is his 24th birthday, so feliz cupleanos Mr. Grymes!

He did get busted for that marijuana but Birdman Baby, or Baby Birdman, hell I'm about to start calling him BabyBird, says that 18 year old chick is not his wifey...That's not the only thing he wants to clear up. He tells MTV News that there wasn't a pound in the trash and there were no gun charges because he and his security are licensed to carry guns.
"We was on the bus. I was asleep in the back," he said. "Why they pulled us over, I don't know. The people are making the situation out worse than what it is. We got arrested for a misdemeanor amount of [marijuana] — we didn't have no pound. The police just found something minor in a garbage can the dog sniffed. We all got out on bond."

"I'm not married," he insisted. "Never! Been! Married! Plus, that girl was 18! I don't get down like that! Plus, if I was married, why would I keep it a secret?" However, he did allow that perhaps the right woman could make an honest man out of him one day.
So who was the random chick on the bus? BabyBird says she's a friend of one the other 15 people on the bus that was arrested. So there goes your Chester Molester rumors...

So way back around '98 a boy band hit the scene by the name of Imajin...They had 3 good hits with Shorty, No Doubt and Flava...but like most boy bands they drifted into throwback heaven. However, they are still grinding, making music and somewhere around 2004 they had a new song called "I Miss You (Fatal)" while on Motown but...

In classic industry fashion the song was sold to another up and coming R&B singer, who we now know as J. Holiday. So it made it's way on to his album, Bac of my Lac [one of the best of '07].

Check out Imajin's version "I Miss You (Fatal)"...

Now check out J. Holiday's version of "Fatal"...

Of course I'm totally biased, I think J killed it, but you tell me?

Beyonce and Jay Z were spotted leaving NY's The Spotted Pig after a private party with some friends Tuesday night. Apparently Jay Z is feeling the spot, this was his fifth straight night at the cozy eatery, especially the deviled eggs. Word is he enjoyed the past few nights with colleagues and friends at the exclusive 3rd floor hot spot. The patent trench and pumps are fly for real A Bey Bey!

A very preggers Christina Aguilera capitalized on her growing belly and bared it on the cover of the January issue of Marie Claire. Talk about starting the year off right! I love nude belly shots and she has the body for it, so go for it... She tells the mag that her and hubby, Jason, were actually suprised when she found the bun in the oven, though they were starting to plan for a baby:
“We were planning on starting to try after the [Nov. 2006-May 2007 Back to Basics] tour. And so, I had gone off the Pill to prepare my body, because I didn’t know how much time it would take. You’ve heard it takes some time – except with Power Egg and Super Sperm here. I’m like, Oh, my God, can you believe it just happened?”

Aguilera believes the moment of conception occurred when Bratman – a music executive whom the singer married two years ago – visited Georgetown during a tour stop, when she had one month of physically challenging concerts still left to perform.

Keyshia Cole made a pit stop at TRL promoting her new album, second single, TV show, and tour...talk about a busy chick. I am really starting to just plain ole like Keyshia. Being from the Bay too, she reminds me of my people. Even though her attitude can stink, she still seems like she's a bit vulnerable and that makes her more personable.

Janet Jackson is planning another comeback with an album due in February 2008. She decided to ditch the midget, production wise at least while he works on Mariah's album, and team up with L.A. Reid again. She's also signed with the William Morris Agency for new representation. Seeing that the last 2 albums were pretty poo-poo, my hope is slowly fading for Janet, hopefully she can get in the zone a pull out a hit.

Birdman aka Baby born Bryan Williams was busted in Kingsport [where?] Tennessee with 15 other people, including his wife and brother! Of course, his RV was pulled over for a minor traffic violation, when it made an illegal lane change that ran a trailer off the road. As the cop approached the RV it smell the weed and later found a pound in the trashcan. That was smart! They also found a .223 carbine assault rifle, a 9mm handgun and a magazine for .45-cal. handgun. Damn!

Anyhow, all 16 posted bail and back smokin' somewhere. Shame Shame Shame!

LOL @ Evel and his deuces up!

Kanye West and the original daredevil, Evel Knievel have reached an amicable settlement to the lawsuit filed by Knievel over the use of Knievel's trademarked image in a Kanye's "Touch the Sky" video. The settle wasn't disclosed which means the 'Ye dropped some change in his bucket!

In the lawsuit, Knievel claimed the "vulgar and offensive" images depicted in the video damaged his reputation. And he accused the 29-year-old rapper of using the Knievel image to "promote his filth to the world."

Meeting West changed his mind, Knievel said. "I thought he was a wonderful guy and quite a gentleman," he said.

...for now. Amy Winehouse has canceled all remaining shows in 2007 due to doctor's orders. With the drunken slur ridden performances, on stage cocaine hits, and her hubby being in jail, it's enough to drive a poor girl crazy!

She has been given orders to take a complete rest to deal with her drug addictions "health issues" and with her better half chillin' in jail for assaulting the landlord until January, why torture anymore concert goers!?

She reportedly said, "I can't give it my all on stage without my Blake. I'm so sorry but I don't want to do the shows half-heartedly; I love singing. My husband is everything to me and without him it's just not the same." [SOURCE]

Washington Redskins' safety Sean Taylor died just a day after being shot in his home over the weekend while home in Miami while suffering a knee injury. The young father and pro-bowler recently changed his life after some legal run-ins. The police current have no suspects in the case.
Taylor died early Tuesday of a gunshot wound from an apparent intruder, a tragic end for a 24-year-old whose life was transformed by the birth of a daughter 18 months ago.

“We’re going to miss him,” Gibbs said. “I’m not talking about as a player. I’m talking about as a person.”

A day earlier, Taylor and his girlfriend were awakened by loud noises, according to family friend Richard Sharpstein, who learned the details from Taylor’s girlfriend, Jackie Garcia. He said Taylor grabbed a machete he keeps in the bedroom for protection. Someone then broke through the bedroom door and fired two shots, one missing and one hitting Taylor, Sharpstein said. Neither Taylor’s daughter, Jackie, nor Taylor’s girlfriend were injured in the attack.

The bullet damaged the femoral artery in Taylor’s leg, causing significant blood loss. Taylor never regained consciousness, Sharpstein said, and the news that he had squeezed a nurse’s hand late Monday only proved to give false hope.

Foxy Brown finally got out of solitary confinement...for what you say? Good behavior. Can you fathom that?! After not playing nice in with the other inmates and refusing to take a urine test, she was sent to the hole for 76 days. She was lucky to get out after 40 days...

Ever wondered what happened to Another Bad Creation? Okay, well maybe not, but endulge me! You can see where they are now, well three of 'em that is. They're trying to get back in the music game, but some things shall remain in the 80's babes!

So look-a-here, Serena and Common -- who are now rumored to be dating -- were caught in London together looking a bit, shall we say disheveled. Torn stockings at the knees, Common's glossy lips [it's poppin'!] and that eye-contact avoidance all equals some suspect behavior!

...and where is Jackie Long? and Kerry Washington? Hmm... ya'll got some 'splaining to do.

Being a Grammy-winning soul sista doesn't mean you won't get called "the n-word" in 2007! But ya'll know Jilly from Philly don't take any foolery...
...she was alone, "waiting outside for the valet to bring the car round, and these … I say kids, but they must have been 25, looking wealthy, five-o'clock-in-the-morning wasted. And this guy's saying, 'Step back nigger, step back nigger.' He's saying it like it's a song, but there's nobody out there but me. I was taken aback, and I said, 'Excuse me?'
Continue reading to see what she did next!

And he said, 'Shut your mouth and don't say a word when a white man is talking.'

"I'm not kidding. I started laughing, and I followed him and his cohorts through the parking lot laughing hysterically, and they became more and more uncomfortable. It was one of the best moments of outrageous laughter I've had.

"To think for one moment I could possibly fit into that box … I am so far from that word that it is funny. They looked so uncomfortable; I wanted to emasculate him, to make sure he was getting no nookie that night. The girls sobered up and were looking scared. It was something else - the first time in my life I've been called that. Wow. But I enjoyed it. You must fight back; it's imperative. I like the fight in me now." [SOURCE]

When your 15 minutes has expired, what do you do? The Boom Kat herself is still talking about the infamous MTB4 blow up with Diddy. Not that she'll get another 15 minutes, but give her 30 seconds to read her quote! In an interview with New York Magazine, Gibson says she will never work as a choreographer with the rap mogul again because of his supersized self-image.
"The problem was definitely P. Diddy and working with his ego," she explained. "It was really him that gave me trouble because he couldn't really understand that at certain points [the process] was difficult and hostile. I mean, the girls were amazing and the boys were not the problem. They were hard workers, and the show was definitely edited at times. It's debatable, but a lot of people know that's what it takes as a dancer." [SOURCE]
Damn, I sure was hoping MTV would pick up her reality show...

I am no lawyer [yet, maybe] but I said this from jump, T.I.'s only chance of not seeing jail time is to have the evidence thrown out, most likely on a technicality. That's exactly what his legal dream team is kicking his defense off with. Otherwise, that evidence seem pretty damning and could cost him years in prison.
T.I.'s lawyers gave a hint of how they plan to defend their client through motions filed in court on Monday seeking to suppress evidence seized from the rapper's vehicle during his October 13 arrest on federal weapons charges. The motions claim that the evidence against him and statements he made to authorities were illegally obtained. The Associated Press reports that attorneys for the rapper (born Clifford Harris) claim his car was searched without a warrant, consent or probable cause. They also claim that his detention might not have been appropriate, that statements he made to authorities might not have been voluntary and that agents may have failed to honor his rights. The motions don't go into details on the basis for the legal challenges, but state that more information will be filled in later. [SOURCE]

He had a few things to say about the situation, among them that Kells requested all 7 dressing rooms in Columbus, Ga. and Ne-Yo had to finagle a room for him and his dancers, Kells bumped him from rehearsal in half the time alloted, and that Kells requested no one to be in the hallway when he walks through. Talk about a diva demands. Plus he addresses the Keyshia Cole rumors, his fans, and the reviews...
